Custom Cards forum

I've decided to take on the fun challenge of designing cards based solely on the titles of whatever decks get cycled on tapped. I'll be using only the name, not the contents or theme.

Disclaimer: deck names subject to change based on what the owner. The deck may have changed names or may have been deleted altogether.

First 1:

Bastion Defense:

Enchantment Artifact

As long as Bastion Defense remains untapped, Creatures you control can't attack and can block an additional creature.

: Creatures you control gain +2/+0 until end of turn.

That's actually not a bad idea some of the deck names would make great card names. Interested in what you come up with

should be an artifact, or enchantment artifact. enchantments alone don't tap.

Enchantments can tap. Flowstone Embrace

future sight is not a good example of what should be done, yes enchantments can be tapped. No they should not have abilities that cause them to tap as an ability. It causes an issue between what is and enchantment vs artifact mechanically. I can say this from personal experience buying random future sight packs and being confused by Flowstone Embrace as a beginner. This is an important distinction to have.

and then on heroic fiend that's an interesting way to flavor that ability. It's usually on green cards but the way it comes off there is super interesting. I don't think I would go with devil soldier, maybe satyr following the deck's theme? or goblin fits better into R/W than devil. Kithkin is probably best for a R/W small guy creature? I just don't think devil belongs in R/W hybrid.

Based on the name Modern Worms by PepsiAddicted:

Name: Competitive Crossbreeding
Cost:
Type: Enchantment
Text: Whenever you cast a Wurm creature spell from your hand you may reveal another Wurm Creauture card from your hand. If you do you may pay the mana cost of the revealed creature to cast the Wurm spell that triggered thsi ability.

The text may be a little wonky but what I want is for somebody to be able to announce that they are casting Reef Worm but then reveal a Coiling Woodworm thus allowing them to cast the Reef Worm for just .

The name is referencing the competitive nature of modern and the fact that the worm deck has many different kinds of worms and that you cast only the best ones easily by including some of the worst ones in your deck (which happens to give a VERY nice Tempo advantage in the case of Reef Worm)

Imagine if you lay down this turn 2 and they don't have Spell Pierce. Their T2 Remand is now worthless. I mean they draw a card, but Reef Worm is gonna resolve damnit! (I know none of these cards I'm referencing are modern legal but still I designed as if they all were because of the deck name.)

Snapcaster's Fury

Instant

Counter target instant spell. If you do, exile that spell instead of putting it into its owners graveyard. You may cast that spell without paying it's mana cost as long as it remains exiled.
