Making some Custom commanders here!

You make a commander, then you make lore for it, then you work with other people to make other commanders that work with or against yours, and other people suggest types of commanders to make, I hope it makes sense

Got it? if not, please read again

Make a Ooze commander

Homelessguy says... #2

Kraj, forced symbiote

For the picture I have something in mine like one of The quiet men with ooze forcing itself in to its ear

Legendary ooze

Put a + 1/+ 1 counter on Target creature whenever kraj is removed from the battlefield all other creatures with a 1-1 counter are shuffled into their owners Library 2/5

Lore After being presumably killed and separated by The Quiet men one of the pieces of kraj remained sentient and found that had the ability to take control of any living organism a power presumably gained after absorbing rakdos.

Now using the body of a one of The Quiet Man it is slowly taking over more and more host bodies( think agent Smith from The Matrix but gooey) and with each new host kraj Gaines there knowledge slowly creating a hive mind Collective

Now if I'm reading this right I now pick the next type... correct? Ok... make a Hydra Commander

July 22, 2018 3:33 p.m.

dbpunk says... #3

Killik Rex, Hydra King

Legendary Creature - Hydra

Bloodthirst X

When ~ enters play, it enters with X +1/+1 counters on it.

Whenever a creature your control deals combat damage to a player, put a +1/+1 counter on it.

Lore: In the Savage land of Jund, dragons only fear a single Hydra, a beast of fierce proportions. Some dragons and vampires found themselves instead working for the best, following it in it's path of destruction.

Make a tri-color demon commander.

July 22, 2018 4:03 p.m.

dbpunk says... #4

Oh mine is a 0/0

July 22, 2018 4:04 p.m.

kanokarob says... #5

Jecks, the Dealbreaker

Legendary Creature - Demon

As long as you're the player with the fewest cards in hand, ~ costs less to cast.

Flying, skulk

Creatures you control with flying, fear, intimidate, horsemanship, skulk, shadow, or a landwalk ability get +2/+2.

Whenever one or more creatures you control with flying, fear, intimidate, horsemanship, skulk, shadow, or a landwalk ability deals combat damage to a player, target creature you control gains protection from creatures.

Jecks is your standard local demon, striking deals with mortals for fun and favors. However, this demon has become known for being a bit more lax with his side of the bargain if his petitioner's request is for longer-term ends, rather than immediate satisfaction. Because of this, the people that come to him have begun to take advantage of his softer contracts, and to get his share, he's had to resort to... less acceptable business practices. While he's contractually barred from actually breaking his deals, he can use his completed transactions to... help fate along, and bring more fools into his employ.

Next challenge, make a non-Eldrazi commander that utilizes and expands upon the "Processor" mechanic from BfZ block.

July 22, 2018 4:56 p.m.

MDSW9 says... #6

Secretary of Urza

Legendary Creature - Human Processor

Put a card an opponent owns from exile into that player's graveyard: Search your library for a Processor card and put it into your hand

Create a 1/2 Processor creature token with "when ~ enters the battlefield, you may put a card an opponent owns from exile into that player's graveyard. If you do, each opponent discards a card."

Lore: Being a planeswalker is a busy job, he looks after all the paperwork involved in crossing worlds so often

Make a esper top of the deck matters commander

July 22, 2018 5:17 p.m.

dbpunk says... #7

Ferdinand, The Thief

Legendary Creature - Aetherborn Rogue

Each player plays with the top card of their library revealed.

During each of turn, you may cast a spell from target opponents graveyard using Mana as though it was Mana of any color. If you do, each player looks at the top three cards of their library, puts one into their hand, then puts the rest in their graveyard.

Lore: Unlike other Aetherborn, Ferdinand was born without any aid in the far reaches of kaladesh. Driven only by a desire to survive, he became a master thief, going so far as to rob the graves of the Dead.

Make a monoblack token commander

July 22, 2018 6:58 p.m.

Renow, Dread Captain

Legendary Creature - Vampire Knight

Creature tokens you control get +1/+1

When Renow, Dread Captain deals combat damage to a player, create a 1/1 black vampire creature token.

Lore: He is a vampire in service of the Markov clan who commands many lesser vampires as well as zombies.

Make a non-green lands matter commander.

July 22, 2018 11:50 p.m.

ThoAlmighty says... #9

Korlash, the Taken

Legendary Creature - Eldrazi Zombie Warrior

Korlash, the Taken's power and toughness are each equal to the number of basic lands you control.

Korlash has Haste and First Strike as long as you control at least two basic Mountains.

Korlash has Deathtouch and trample as long as you control at least two basic Swamps.

Korlash gets +1/+1 for each basic Waste you control.

I don't really know the lore surrounding Dakkon and Korlash and I honestly have no idea how he would be involved with the Eldrazi, but this sounded really cool in my head.

Next up: Design a 2-drop planeswalker commander.

July 23, 2018 12:19 a.m.

Homelessguy says... #10

Eun, benevolent conqueror

+1 each player put a land from their hand onto the battlefield

-3 each player searches for land and puts it in their hands for each player who does this you may search for that many lands( Tempt with discovery basically but it goes into your hand)

-8 you get an emblem that says whenever an opponent plays a land search your library for land reveal it and put it in your hand

This Planeswalker can also be your commander

Starting loyalty 2

Long before the fighting that took place on Theros over the false god xenagos. Eun a follower of karametra but extremely opportunistic and power hungry.

And even though he was a pacifist was able to conquer great amount of land and people's through elaborate and intricate peace treaties and trade deals that in the beginning seemed mutual beneficial but always ended with Eun with the upper hand

Now a challenge, Any color wall

July 23, 2018 12:55 a.m.

1empyrean says... #11

Soul of the Boiling Sea

Legendary Artifact Creature - Wall Avatar

Whenever a creature becomes blocked by The Boiling Sea, it gains infect and cannot deal damage to you.

The Boiling Sea can't have counters placed on it.

The 5th sphere of Phyrexia, The Boiling Sea is an entire sea of Phyrexian oil. This is it's avatar.

Next up: a mono white goblin

July 23, 2018 1:58 a.m. Edited.

TypicalTimmy says... #12

A wall... avatar? Holy mother of Heliod I love that.

1empyrean, okay he will be mono-white in casting cost but I'll include red in an activated ability so he can have the color identity required to make a Goblin deck in EDH.

Kragel, Brain Thinker

Legendary Creature - Goblin Advisor

Other Goblin creatures you control get +0/+2 and have Vigilance.

, : Put a Goblin from your hand onto the battlefield. It gains Haste until end of turn. At the next end step if it's still on the battlefield, return it to your hand and create a 1/1 red Goblin creature token.

"Why burn books when you can use them as weapons!"

So, my boi Kragel was born surprisingly smart for a Goblin. As the bastard child of Legion Loyalist, he was able to grow up in Ravnica's Boros Legion. While there, he learned that the smart way to raid and pillage (As seen through his eyes) was to get others to do it for you. So he dedicated his life to this belief. Why carry a bigger stick, when 10 others are willing to carry 10 smaller sticks for you?

Well, that was fun. Let's see...

Make a Demon that has Defender. Demons are renowned in MTG (In cards, at least) for having huge punishing drawbacks for their insane stats and evasion. So a Demon with Defender is just pure punishment. Make one that is someone you'd definitely want to play, but only when the time is right so you can get the biggest bang for your buck.

July 23, 2018 3:23 a.m. Edited.

dbpunk says... #13

Krakos, the Vegetated

Legendary Creature - Plant Zombie

Flying, Trample, Defender

Whenever ~ blocks or becomes blocked, exile the creature blocking him and put a +1/+1 counter on ~.

Whenever ~ has a +1/+1 counter put on it, it loses defender and gains Lifelink until end of turn.

Create a commander that uses or gives a Return to Ravnica block mechanic OUTSIDE of it's guild:

(The Return to Ravnica block mechanics are:

Detain W/U (Azorius) Cipher U/B (Dimir) Unleashed BR (Rakdos) Bloodrush RG (Gruul) Populate GW (Selesnya) Extort W/B (Orzhov) Scavenge BG (Golgari) Evolve G/U (Simic) Overload U/R (Izzet) Battalion RW (Boros))

dbpunk says... #15

Scaramouche of the Fandango

Legendary Creature - Elf Rogue

Whenever one or more +1/+1 counters are put on ~, discard that many cards and return that many cards from your graveyard to your hand.

Lore: A spy in the home of Marchesa, Scaramouche performs all sorts of functions as eyes and ears for his master Leovold.

Make a Dredge legendary Creature who isn't golgari

July 23, 2018 3:26 p.m.

killroy726 says... #16

Livisack gets +2/+2 for each time it has been cast this game.

Lore: Livisack is a Rakdos zombie who does what no other member would. He charges headlong into certain doom only to return stronger than ever before.

ok id like to see a legendary creature for chaos decks. something that synergizes with cards like Eye of the Storm, Scrambleverse, etc..

July 23, 2018 7:38 p.m.

Homelessguy says... #17

Yukoa, spiritual healer

Whenever an instant or sorcery you control is exiled you gain life equal to converted Mana cost

Next up a couple Commander you know like Anax and Cymede

July 24, 2018 1:01 a.m.

TypicalTimmy says... #18

From the other custom thread. Made it like two days ago but it'd be nice to include a backstory.

Kalla and Uter Bloodborn

Legendary Creature - Elf Warrior

Other creatures you control have Haste.

Whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to an opponent, you may put a land from your hand onto the battlefield.

Born on Jund, these Savage twins broke free from their Elven life styles to pursue a more "natural" living. Training among Jund's most Savage of beasts, this couple learned how to inspire swiftness in others and harness the powers of rage and ferocity itself to tap into the very anger of the world.

Make a Golgari spider that functions in a similar fashion to any of the creatures in Tarmogoyf's race.

July 24, 2018 2:26 a.m.

1empyrean says... #19

Srishii, Keeper of Silence

Legendary Creature - Spider

Srishii's power is equal to the number of creature cards in all graveyards and its toughness is equal to that number plus 2.

If a creature card would leave the graveyard, its controller discards a card instead. If a creature card was discarded this way, tap Srishii.

( * / * +2)

Shrishii's web holds the still living bodies of many inhabitants of Jund, their friends and family can't but help try to save them. None have succeeded, and the would be rescuers become the next meal. The attempts are meaningless, however, as their bodies are slowly being dissolved and digested and would fall apart if removed from the web.

I forgot my own rule (hahaha)

TypicalTimmy says... #23

Avatar of Undeath

Legendary Creature - Zombie Mutant

Evolve, Persist

Whenever a creature you control dies, Avatar of Undeath gets +1/+1 until end of turn.

Sacrifice a creature: Draw a card.

Wanting to create a being that blurs the lines between life and death, Sidric, Mutation Expert decided to take DNA that has been biodegrading and breathe new life into it WITH SCIENCE!! The result was a monstrosity that endlessly feeds and grows rampantly out of control.

I'd have preferred Sultai, but the challenge was Simic.

Make a Planeswalkers Commander for Sidric, Mutation Expert. He is Sultai.

July 24, 2018 11:21 a.m. Edited.

Korath37 says... #24

Sidric, Mutation Expert

0: You may pay , if you do Reanimate

-1: Search your library for a card named 'Avatar of Undeath' and put it into your hand. Shuffle your library. Scry 2

Well, make a Saheeli Rai planeswlaker commander

July 25, 2018 10:17 a.m.

Korath37 says... #25

Sidric, Mutation Expert. well he isn't my lore to explain. it's TypicalTimmy's.

But the "Strange Blob" part is mine to explain

After his fail with the "Avatar of Undeath" he tires to make a new one and succeed many times. but one day he spilled chemicals on himself, turning him into the "Strange Blob"

July 25, 2018 9:32 p.m.

Homelessguy says... #26

Saheeli Rai, protege

Legendary human

Whenever and artifact creature deals damage to an opponent scry 1

If you scry 5 times this turn flip Saheeli Rai, protege 1/2

Saheeli Rai, mentor

1+ deal 1 damage to each opponent for every time you scry this time

0 discard a card and scry 1

-8 get a emblem that says anytime you would put a card on the bottom of your library after a scry deal damage equal to that card converted Mana cost to Target opponent

Starting 2 loyalty

I really don't know what to do about The lore here because she already has it. I don't know any of it so... Sorry.

So I did a flip Commander and I think that's pretty neat so for the next one pick your favorite Commanders and make them a flip Walker

July 26, 2018 1:28 a.m.

TypicalTimmy says... #27

Oh Hell yeah

Xantcha, Infiltrator

Legendary Creature - Minion

When Xantcha, Infiltrator enters the battlefield, an opponent of your choice gains control of it.

Xantcha, Infiltrator must attack each turn if able, and must attack it's owner. It can not be blocked.

Whenever Xantcha, Infiltrator deals 10 or more damage to it's owner, transform it. It's owner gains control of it.

Xantcha, Disciple of Pain

Legendary Planeswalker - Xantcha

+3 Xantcha, Disciple of Pain deals 3 damage to any two targets and 3 damage to it's you.

-5 Gain control of target creature until end of turn. It gains Haste. When it is returned to it's owner, it deals 5 damage to that player.

-10 Choose left or right. Each player exchanges life totals with the player in that direction. The player with the highest life total discards their hand, then exiles their graveyard. The player with the lowest life total draws five cards. If there is a tie, do both.

I'm sure there's already lore for her, so I won't make any. Also not in the mood to brush up on it and expand.

August 2, 2018 11:37 p.m.

TypicalTimmy says... #38

Havvarok, Plunderer

Legendary Creature - Dragon

Flying, Haste

Whenever Havvarok, Plunderer deals combat damage to an opponent, you may prevent any amount of that damage. If you do, shuffle that many cards from your graveyard into your library. That opponent puts that many cards from the top of their library into their graveyard.

So the idea here is since red does a lot of discard/draw, this Dragon let's you regain discarded cards while milling your opponent.

You'd actually be able to prevent all 7 damage even if you don't have 7 cards in your graveyard. The game will try to do as much as possible, then make your opponent mill as much as possible - which would be all 7. Though, to be honest, you'd probably just want to deal the damage. You'd hit 40 life a lot sooner then 99 cards :/

Story: Havvarok is a greedy Dragon who lives to plunder. Unlike most Dragons who merely endlessly feed, Havvarok's insatiable desire to hoarde causes him to endlessly terrorize any and all cities around him.

Next: Make another Havvarok, this time falling anywhere within Grixis that you see fit. Keep his need to control and gain, but you don't have to do it via milling.

Hmm... ... so it wants to be in control, no matter the cost? Makes sense, considering Yore-Tiller Nephilim manipulates graveyards and battlefields IF it attacks, which being a 2/2 is a huge risk for itself.

Alright. So that's the route I'm going here. Control with high risk.

Now I just gotta figure out an appropriate race... sounds to me... like... hmm... Definitely a Wizard of some sorts... perhaps.... a... Huh. That could work.

Averian, Archangel of Authority

Legendary Creature - Angel Wizard

Flying, Vigilance, First Strike, Haste

When Averian, Archangel of Authority enters the battlefield choose a color. Spells of that color you cast cost less. Spells of that color your opponent's cast cost more.

Averian, Archangel of Authority must attack each turn if able.

You may exert Averian, Archangel of Authority when she attacks. If you do, you may cast sorcery spells until end of turn as though they had flash. If that card would be put in your graveyard, exile it instead.

So, basically she's an Angel who is careless but powerful. Because of this, she feels that she is always within her right to do whatever it is she pleases, and damn anyone who gets in her way.

I know Sarkhan has a complex story, but I'd like to see a Legendary Creature card for him. Make a Sarkhan Creature that transforms into your choice of an especially powerful Dragon, or transforms into a highly potent Planeswalker.

Flipwalkers are cool, but so are Dragons and that'd be an awesome way to show his true power as a Dragonlord Shaman. So the choice is yours :)

When you cast Vorden, exile all cards from opponent's graveyards.

Vorden almost never leaves the blind eternities, as reality does not interest it. It can't abide the presence of intruders on its solitude either. No planeswalker has crossed its path and lived.

Thplrt was a Homunculus built with three eyes: one of which saw the immediate future, one of which saw all possible futures and one of which to see the present. Unfortunately, one eye was damaged in the creation process, only allowing it to see some possibilities.

Create a commander that interacts with the command zone in an unique way. By which I mean doesn't have just an ability that plays it from the command zone for a reduced cost.

Ewar, the Trash Hulk

Legendary Artifact Creature - Golem

If an artifact would leave the battlefield, you may put it in your command zone instead.

Ewar gets +1/+1 for each artifact card in you command zone.

Ewar was once an ordinary golem, but living on Mirrodin can be tricky for a beat up old piece of scrap and was destined to be fed to the great furnace by goblins. Then, quite by accident, he fused some scrap to his body and was suddenly too much for the goblins to handle, an he's been growing himself ever since.

Hans Grafenl, Blood-Torn

Legendary Creature - Vampire Werewolf

Flying, Haste, Deathtouch, Menace

Whenever this creature destroys another creature, discard a card and put a rage counter on it. Then, if there are three or more rage counters on it, transform it.

Hans, Pure Blooded

Legendary Creature - Demon

Flying, Hexproof, First Strike, Deathtouch, Trample, Menace, Fear

As long as this creature is attacking, creatures you control gain +4/+4 until end of turn.

Sacrifice two creatures: Gain control of target creature or Planeswalker

Hans began a simple life as a miner on Innistrad. One fateful night while out during a restless evening, his world changed when he was attacked by a werewolf. Thankfully he survived, embedding his pick into the werewolves skull, but alas he was gravely injured.

As he limped back, the scent of fermenting blood attracted a ravenous vampire. This vampire made quick work of Hans, draining him of the last ounce of blood he had. As the vampire left the husk behind, the powers mixed within his very soul. He gasped life again as his wounds closed shut, and he awakened as a breed far worse then either.

Over time, as his bloodlust grew and his mind darkened, his soul eventually became so corrupted that it burned out the diseases from each affliction as his mind and being descended toward Hell, where his true form took over once and for all.

Now, my challenge is simple. When Hans died, the reason he was able to survive is because his Planeswalker spark ignited.

Make the Planeswalker's version of him, and make it able to be a Commander.

When you continue his story, explain what Plane he walked to, and what dangers he encountered to justify his Rakdos abilities.

If you're wondering what type of magic he possesses, let's go for Sangumancy. Aka blood magic. The power to control and kill others at will, or increase his own strength or the strength of those under his command.

he landed on noxir, my own made up plane void of its white mana. there he meets up with desmond, another "vaewolf". when white mana reappears he does his best to protect his friend from the sun. hoping to ease his own loneliness.

create a commander from noxir, that is not a "vaewolf". if you need more info i posted noxir's basics in the custom cards forum, "Make a new Plane!" by Snap157.
