Ok, heres how this works. You create a card to the specifications of the person above you, then list your own card idea for the next person. I'll start.

Variety XX

Sorcery

If X is 2 or lower, draw X cards. If X is 3, put X +1/+1 counters on X target creatures. If X is 4, return X target creatures from your graveyard to the battlefield. If X is 5 or more, Variety deals x damage to target creature or player. If X is 10 or more, you win the game.

Create a life gaining multicolored Turtle with power twice it's toughness or vice versa.

Made this more with Pauper EDH than Pauper in mind but it works for both. It is another card like Ivy Lane Denizen to combo with Persist creatures for infinite ETB/LTB/Death triggers.

Another new common for a Pauper/Pauper EDH deck.

When Rhyxos dies, each opponent loses 3 times X life, where X is your devotion to black. They may repeatedly discard a card or sacrifice a permanent to reduce life lost by 3.

What Doesn't Kill You

Enchantment

Whenever any creature takes damage, if it isn't destroyed, put a +1/+1 counter on that creature.

Whenever any planeswalker takes damage, if it isn't destroyed, put a loyalty counter on that planeswalker.

Whenever any player takes damage from a source that player does not control, if that player doesn't lose the game, that player gains 1 life and may draw a card.

The Mighty Pen

Skip all combat phases each turn. Prevent all damage that would be dealt by creatures. If a creature would attack, destroy it instead.

Sacrifice all non-creature permanents you control: destroy The Mighty Pen. Any player may activate this ability.

The mightiest warriors are nothing before it.


That would certainly create some fun politics... Make another idiom card, or any saying.

Citywide tussle

You may cast tussle at the saloon as if it had flash if you pay 2 more to cast it.

Split second

Each player secretly chooses a creature they control and another target player. Each creature chosen gains indestructible until end of turn. The players then reveal who they chose. Each player's chosen creature fights each of the other chosen player's creatures. If two creatures both fight the same player's creatures, then after they fight each creature that their controller picked, they lose indestructible and fight each other. If no creatures survive, you win the game.

Create a 5-color legendary sorcery.

It's just so easily spammable I guess. Stuff like Chaos Warp and colorless permanent exile/destruction exist, but they're usually not repeatable. One of the ways the colors stay balanced is to make certain things much easier or harder to do depending on your color, but not impossible. It's the fact that it can be repeated without interacting with any other cards, that's all. Still an awesome card though.

How about "Destroy target permanent controller by a player you attacked this turn."? And reduce the cost by 1 mana. That seems more balanced.

I feel like TypicalTimmy original idea was pretty solid, and effective, but KongMing your last suggestion makes it much more on flavor, and also makes it less powerful for something like a Grixis Control style deck who would just make you discard and counter your relevant stuff until it could land this.

Niv’s Sucker Punch

Legendary Sorcery

Deal 10 damage to target creature or planeswalker. If a Bolas creature or Walker was destroyed this way, it’s controller loses 5 life.

I don’t know the full War of the Spark lore, but Magic Arcanum on YouTube explained that Niv was reborn, “Died” to Bolas again almost instantly, but returned just as Bolas was being defeated. I hope this card represents that.

My challenge again!

Multicolored artifact or enchantment with (at least) one triggered, one activated and one static ability.

Whenever a Goblin enters the battlefield under your control, Goblin Orb becomes a 1/1 red Goblin creature and loses the artifact card type until end of turn.

Also good TypicalTimmy! I was thinking being able to destroy a key blocker or enchantment before blockers are declared, but the combat damage trigger would make it much more interactive in multiplayer. Makes you a bigger threat and also a potent ally if you need to take down someone with big permanents.

Yes Daveslab2022, but only until you play a Goblin. Once a Goblin ETBs, the Orb becomes a creature and loses the Artifact card type, so it can then activate until end of turn. (:

Manifestation of Law {BW} (2/2) Legendary Creature - Spirit

Flash. Flying. This spell cannot be countered.

You may play this spell from exile if it has a Law Counter on it. If you do so, you must pay an additional {2} for each Law Counter on it.
