What deck is good against Izzet?

My buddy loves Izzet. He has two decks that are very hard to beat.
A ramped up Saheeli precon that's like 3x as fast and aggressive, and a wizard tribal deck that is all about taking extra turns and spell recursion.
I'm not very good at EDH. In fact, I struggle to build any kind of deck for this format.
What would be good to go against these? I'm thinking green with it's plentiful artifact removal and big creatures. That should help suppress both decks.
But should I only go monogreen stompy? Is there something else I should consider or look into?
I would also add that izzet has very limited ways to deal with enchantments so that is another thing to consider.

I think it really depends on what you have as your color identity. In truth, both of those decks sound like you need to use just some standard hosers just in case.
What decks do you currently have already? It might be easier to develop a sideboard or edit them to deal with artifact decks and wizard tribal.

I feel like your self admitted struggle to build a commander deck probably has more to do with it than your buddy favoring izzet.
There are several sites out there to help. Edhrec.com and Metamox.com are both great starting points. After that just do a Google search for your commander + primer and do a little research on sites like this one.
If your problem is more in threat assessment, mana curve, right amount of lands, using counterspells/spot removal correctly, and just piloting decks in commander in general I'd also suggest watching video deck techs, 'better commander player' type videos and articles, reading (mainly articles and the 1st post/deck description on primers), and asking questions like this one but on someone's primer (these people typically have years of experience piloting their commander).
Also, post a link to your decklist with your budget you can spend, a brief description of what you're trying to do with your deck (i.e. combo, aggro, control, +1+1 counters, etc.) and maybe some of us can help.
