Top 10 green cards at 6 cmc

Commander (EDH) forum

Posted on Aug. 13, 2020, 11:59 a.m. by griffstick

I'm back again with a user upvoted top ten at 6 cmc. This time its green. Last time is was black. The users voted that Bolas's Citadel was the best black card at 6 cmc. The link to that list is here https://tappedout.net/mtg-forum/commander/top-10-favorite-black-cards-6-cmc/

So the rules are to post a comment of a green card at 6 cmc and the people will upvote it. The cards with the most upvotes will get the # spot. I will update the top 10 list daily.

Your comment/comments should look something like this...

My favorite green card at 6 cmc is Multani, Maro-Sorcerer.

It shouldn't look like this.

My favorite card is this card and that card and also this card but I think this card is the best.

More rules.

  • If you want to submit multiple cards, comment multiple times. Only one card per submission.
  • Upvote whatever cards you agree to be in the top ten.
  • Dont be afraid to upvote multiple cards.
  • You may make comments on other suggested cards and you may talk about the top cards list. But keep your card suggestions separate.
  • X spells are excluded.
  • You may tag friends to join the conversation/debate.
  • Only green cards at 6 cmc will be considered for the top 10.
  • You may talk about other cards outside of green and outside of 6 cmc but they will not be considered for the top 10 Caerwyn.
  • Cards that are multiple colors will not be excepted. Including hybrid mana.
  • Cards banned in edh will not be considered.
  • If the submitted card has the same amount of upvotes as another card. I will make a judgment call on witch one I feel deserves the higher spot in the top 10.
  • S stands for super. For the 1 card that I chose to represent the best card if not banned in edh.
  • If theres a draw. For instance. If a card has 5 upvotes, and another card has 5 upvotes, and one of them I have upvoted, and the other I have not upvoted. The card I have not upvoted counts as 5½ or 5.5 for those using the metric system.

Seasons Past is one of Green's best card draw spells. It can easily draw you 4-5 cards for 6, and if they were in your graveyard chances are you are you want those cards. Unless you're playing some sort of combo, that is.

I'd have chosen Prime Time but he's banned. Best green creature period.

@TriusMalarky omg I do love that. As a pauper edh player. I think that's a solid card. It's also funny because it's a meme right now lol

I assume you mean that multi-colored spells will not be "accepted"? I normally try to avoid asking grammatical questions since no one likes a grammar Nazi, but "not be excepted" is an archaic way of saying "not be excluded". Though I am fairly certain what you meant, I just want to double check since both are grammatically proper ways to say opposite things.

Assuming you are looking for mono-Green cards, I nominate Primeval Titan.

Mana Reflection is one of the best mana doublers in the game and, is definitely my favorite green card at 6 mana.

Caerwyn titan is sadly banned in EDH

smackjack - Whoops, evidently I had a momentary lapse of memory.

I shall go with Vigor then.

I loved the mechanics (and THEME!) of Johtull Wurm. I feel like that mechanic would be great to balance out the power of some new cards.

Oooooh I just found Klothys's Design and I love it

In Mono Green, this is easily one of the closest things to Hoofie that's not a creature. I love it, especially 'cos it basically gives everything +2/+2 for each creature you control cos most good green creatures have 2 pips.

I might run it over Triumph of the Hordes.... if I had them. Triumph is too expensive for me.

Brutalizer Exarch is a flexible spell offering late game removal or a tutor. I feel that it is often overlooked especially when considering budget decks.

It’s gotta be Primeval Titan, right? Banned in some formats, competitive success across almost every single format, entire deck archetypes dedicated to and centered around the card, powerful card that generates value on cast as well as value from being a threat and triggers on attack.

This has to be the best 6 cmc green card of all time, and it really shouldn’t be much of a contest.

I get that’s banned in EDH, but that should be an obvious indicator that it’s easily the best card in green at 6 cmc in the format.

My favorite green card at 6 CMC is Lurking Predators. When playing a large pod of players, this card is tremendous. Especially with a top or other scry abilities.

August 13, 2020 7:07 p.m.

MagicMarc says... #26

My next favorite green card at 6 CMC is Kamahl, Fist of Krosa. The ability to do repeatable Overruns is awesome. But his first ability, coupled with a sweeper to destroy an opponent's lands or just to add bodies for an Overrun can be brutal.

August 13, 2020 7:10 p.m.

MagicMarc says... #27

My third favorite green card at 6 CMC is Primeval Bounty. It just symbolizes green goodness and adds inevitability to a deck.

August 13, 2020 7:13 p.m.

MagicMarc says... #28

My flavor favorite green card at 6 CMC is Nut Collector. It's a druid, it collects nuts, which is nuts. And going wide with squirrels is full of win.

Selvala's Stampede - Amazing card & one of the best cyc rift punishers in the game

So no reduced cost cards count either? Too close to cards? Because I would like to honorable mention The Great Henge With a total power of 3 from your creatures in play. Probably the dumbest best card in green.

I wanted to point it out because it's almost impossible during normal game play to end up casting it for the full cost in a green deck. And it does so much!

Daveslab2022 says... #31

Someone else said See the Unwritten but it didn’t count so I’ll submit that one. It definitely deserves a spot in the lower top 10, maybe 9-10.

That was on the list RambIe posted. He has a great list. Even has Elvish Aberration on there. I ran that thing in a lot of janky stuff.

RambIe has Seasons Past on his list right at the number 2 spot and so does the rankings. So his top 10 list seems good.

August 13, 2020 9:45 p.m.

Selvalas stampede. I once Got aurelia warleader, xenagos god of revels, and gisela blade of goldnight.

August 14, 2020 12:23 a.m.

No one has mentioned Pathbreaker Ibex yet??? That should clearly be on the list.

August 14, 2020 2:36 a.m.
August 14, 2020 2:37 a.m.

Regal Behemoth is excellent too.

August 14, 2020 2:39 a.m.

Thunderfoot Baloth should be in the running.

August 14, 2020 2:40 a.m.
August 14, 2020 2:41 a.m.

Also Woodland Bellower. Come on, where all the green mages at?

August 14, 2020 2:42 a.m.

ALright. Last one, Primordial Sage. Draw foreverrrrr.

August 14, 2020 2:42 a.m.

WAIT.
