Welcome fellow Tappedout users

I might have conjured up an idea that even Nicol Bolas himself might enjoy.

We all know the varients of Planechase and Archenemy but What if we take the game up a notch.

Though this name is a W.I.P, at this time it is called Arch-Chase, Where the idea of Planechase is implemented into a Archenemy game where your battling your way through the multiverse to protect from whomever the archenemy can be. Granted this sounds like a Planeschase Commander thing but I think this can be interesting when Archenemy is involved in this.

As I stated for the name of the concpet being Arch-Chase, the idea is a W.I.P as there will be obvious issues when combinding these 2 varients into a single idea. but if you guys like the idea or have suggestions, leave a comment

I have done this exact thing before and even added in vanguard to the mix. I don't recall there being any specific rule issues involved, it just made for a longer game and so as a group we decided to make the scheme deck larger to add more variety during the game. Also as I recall there is an option to use multiple planar decks, each only affecting the controller of the deck however I do not recommend that option in this game since there is already a lot going on. We used 60 card decks, specifically casual decks using the legacy ban list when we played, and I felt the game was long and complicated enough. I suppose Commander decks could work too, but I feel like it might be a bit much if you did. That being said I have always preferred to play multiple shorter games than one extremely long one. So in short I think it works well with one planar deck and a 15 card scheme deck.

Everyone has their own archenemy schemes and planar deck, and when you planeswalk you also flip a scheme and become the archenemy. You could do communal piles too, but it would of course be better if your schemes and planes helped you out.

Sounds epic to me.

I actually love the idea, but games I've tried merging those two have been tough to manage. I've had most success with a variant of Archenemy rules for starting life totals (40 archenemy, 30 each other player) and when the archenemy is the one who builds the planar deck. Otherwise it's complete mayhem...

Also, the people playing should steer clear from degenerate instant wins. Both the Big Bad Baddie and the heroes.

This is of course my opinion developed from my experience alone. I haven't met anyone else who tried this, or something similar.
