The best of these as an Azorius general

Commander (EDH) forum

I'm looking for the best option for both fun, but also for some potential as being a real player at a competitive table. My options are Daxos of Meletis, Ephara, God of the Polis, Geist of Saint Traft, Isperia, Supreme Judge, or Medomai the Ageless. There's a possibility I could run into a Brago, King Eternal, but I'm not banking on it. I mostly play 1v1, but I still want a commander that can function in multi-player.

You're missing the best Azorius commander of all...Grand Arbiter Augustin IV. Hands down, better than all of those. My next choice would be Ephara.

Personally, I would go Augustin IV, Brago or Daxos. They're all pretty good 1v1.

Geist is amazing. Especially in 1vs1

I'll second the Geist. Voltron is super fun in EDH for the potential for blowouts, and he's a decent clock on his own when backed by a control deck.

Plus Geist ist really resistant to spot removal. He comes for cheap and can easily be made unblockable in azorius

You're also missing Lavinia of the Tenth as a potential commander, who would also have my vote as a casual commander but at the same time can be very disruptive and control-ly. You can build the deck around abusing flicker effects with Detention Sphere, Oblivion Ring, Glimmerpoint Stag, Conjurer's Closet, or Fiend Hunter.

I wouldn't use d-sphere and o-ring as flicker cards, since they don't actually flicker anything.

You flicker the cards themselves. In response to their etb effect, you flicker them and their leave-play ability triggers and returns nothing to play. Then the ETB ability resolves, permanently exiling whatever was targeted.

DrFunk27 the only reason he isn't the one I'm going to use is because I gotta work with what I've already got. Otherwise he would be the one I choose.

Interesting opinions everyone, thanks.

Raging_Squiggle: Ah. I thought you were trying to flicker Lavinia with them :3

K34 No excuses! He's $5! lol Seriously though, I would go Geist then.

GAA4 all the way. Here is my EDH list for Arbiter and it's not often I lose games and I LOVE it. He's a blast.

Since you didn't give Grand Arbiter Augustine IV as an option I would have to either say Daxos or Geist. Both can be brutal in 1v1 and with some skill and some smart plays can be devastating in multiplayer.

Brago is pretty disgusting. The deck I used to play played extremely well 1v1 and in multiplayer. The list I built focuses on high tempo and tons of paths for going infinite in numerous ways.

Slightly degenerate, but be prepared to take 15+ minute turns from just mechanics alone. I haven't played the deck in awhile, but it's incredibly fun and I'd say pretty competitive.

Brago is absolutely brutal when built correctly, debatably he is the best of the azorius generals really.
