could someone kindly provide me some links to some of the best EDH decks?

i am not looking to copy one, im designing my own, but id like to get an idea of how many lands and what kinds the better decks run, and what kind of ramping and how much they do.

thanks in advance!!

there's a red bandit warlord that's a stupid good general. Cna't remember his name but he searches your deck for AN EQUIPMENT CARD

holy shart!

The best EDH really depends on what kind of style you play. Combo, Aggro, Control? That will affect many of your other choices.

I have 3 EDH decks, a Mayael the Anima deck which flops out huge creatures, a toolbox control Momir Vig, Simic Visionary deck and a lifegain Ghost Council of Orzhova (I'll post them at the bottom). I generally try to aim for 36/37 land (the preconstructed ones had 40) and the type of land generally depends on what sort of deck you're building and your budget, as lands are quite often the most expensive part of an EDH deck. Both my green decks have a fair bit of ramping, if you're in green I'd definitely recommend Oracle of Mul Daya, its brilliant!

wrath of the titans - Mayael

Mr Vigstuff - Momir Vig

Village council - Ghost council

The Commander you are thinking of, Geoxis, is Godo, Bandit Warlord.

Moved to EDH forum.

I personally play Dominus - Dreamcrusher Edition. It's a BUG combo-control deck that focuses on heavy ramp, draw, and control as stabilizers for infinite combos. With it, I won three of the four events I entered. The one loss was due to simultaneous hate from the entire pod (I still almost won that game; they were right to focus on me).

"The best EDH really depends on what kind of style you play. Combo, Aggro, Control? That will affect many of your other choices."

oh i realize that. but even in standard there are general guidelines to follow on mana building out a deck. i want to see a variety of the best edh decks so that i can get idea of what kind of deck needs to run what kind of mana build and ramp. rather than just try and follow a formula with a format so malleable id rather see what works already and work backwards from there on how to mana build for a deck.

right now im looking at 3 possibilities.

G/W Trostani, populate, midrange, control

U/R Control, im looking at Timey Wimey

Mono Red Goblins aggro.

Bum-rush aggro probably isn't the way to go as it simply lacks the utility that is so vital in this format. P.S. Red is sadly the weakest color in the format by itself :(

ive heard that mono is weak and mono red the weakest. however i have also heard there is an exception to that with goblin mono red, in that it can be very fast.

To prove to wrong about mono red here is Krenko's Commandos. I've had it go off T3 on multiple occasions and by turns 8-10 you can be sitting with 200+ goblins and an Eldrazi Monument on the field.

I'll link all of mine for reference: What Fwoosh?, Rollover Minutes, Team Blade, Aura Mind Trick, Ghave, Guru of Binary, and EDH? Why Not Slivers?.

yeah exactly.

one of my favorite things in magic is never say never. ive seen people destroyed by a deck they swore would never work so many times.

thanks for the help everyone! think i have what i need to figure out the mana to spell ratios in my decks. =)

I enjoy my mono-red You always bring me the very best violence deck. Rhadamanthus wrote an excellent article about using Fumiko the Lowblood as your general to force people to attack.

I have a list of possible generals at http://mtgjunkie.com/edh-generals/ and http://mtgjunkie.com/edh-generals-2/. This is a good list of possible EDH Generals that could help but as others have said there isn't exactly a best commander or best deck. I do recommend multicolors just because it can make your deck more versatile on what you can play. However I wouldn't count monocolored out either because there are obviously good choices for mono colored commanders. Another thing to think about is if you are playing 1v1 or mutliplayer as some decks and commanders fair better 1v1 then playing multiplayer or vice versa.

I have 6 EDH decks currently built, each built without a budget to become the decks I wanted them to be. I only have 1 tribal deck, the rest focus on the synergy of their colors. Most have several of the staple EDH cards, if not all.

If you're looking for THE best EDH decks out there - like tier 1 make you cry when you face it, then I'm sure our favorite Tapped Out Forum admin Epochalyptik has a post somewhere showing some of the best.

Hermit Druid is the best EDH deck. it is almost undisputed. but I dont think you should build it because your friends will not play with you and it is not a lot of fun to pilot.

BTW I dont think everyone should lean so much on Epochalyptik for answers to questions. You wont grow as a player if you call on the resident expert to always answer questions. (dont get me wrong, he is very knowledgeable and usually well spoken) but I think we should practice answering things for ourselves.

Just saying. its been on my chest for a while.

I think it's best to find a general you like ( my personal favorite is Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker ) and build around it.Charon the ferryman (shirei) edh is my favorite. But there is no "best edh deck" , no best general. Its just people abusing the general they chose and trying to win/have fun.

I think that statement could be revised to

There IS a best EDH deck, I just havnt playtested enough to find out what it is yet

However, I dont think the fact that one deck is the best means that you should play it. I agree, play something you like.

You can go to "Deck Builder" and then "Advanced Search" (filling in EDH and any color combinations or specific generals you are thinking of) and search by highest score - this will give you some of the best EDH decks on tappedout.net.

He is a rather silly Commander but I play a Vorosh, the Hunter EDH based around counters or all kinds. It has things like Evolve, Scavenge, Proliferate, and Graft with cards like Doubling Season , Corpsejack Menace , Master Biomancer , and Ratchet Bomb . Its very fun.
