So, ive been looking through the deck and while im having some trouble justifying some switches, i was looking to see if i'd be making a good swap to take out Alliance of Arms for Intangible Virtue

I feel like its almost a no brainer, but i'd like the peace of mind, please.

quick clarify for those that cant quite be arsed to check: the deck is all about tokens out the rear to sac. THe question is: take the chance and keep Alliance of Arms ready when everyone else is almost completely tapped out, or go ahead and have my tokens be able to serve some purpose outside of ammo with Intangible Virtue

second real question: if i have Sigil Captain and Intangible Virtue out at the same time, are my tokens unaffected by Sigil Captain ?

My understanding is that because each of those effects are under your control when you put a token into play you get to choose the order in which they go on the stack. In this case you would put the Intangible Virtue on the stack first, followed by Sigil Captain. That way Sigil Captain would resolve first making your 1/1 tokens into 1/1 tokens with 2 +1/+1 counters on them, followed by Intangible Virtue's effect which doesn't care that they have counters making them into 2/2 tokens with Vigilance and 2 +1/+1 counters on them.

was thinking virtue would be state based a la Heartless Summoning but wasn't sure

I think you may be misreading Alliance of Arms . No matter who pays the mana, every player gets the same amount of 1/1 soldier tokens. If everyone else paid nothing and you paid 10, then everyone would get 10 1/1s.

From what you were saying, it sounded like you thought each player only got as many tokens as mana they personally paid.

ahh, ok. I did misread it. Making me wonder now. Could potentially be a good group hug to buy myself some time. Still liking Intangible Virtue more though. I can hold it till they eat my Sigil Captain at least

Dmleitch is incorrect.

Intangible Virtue makes it so every single token that eneters the battlefield is 1/1 stronger and makes it have vigilance. As long as it's on the battlefield, it will override Sigil Captain s ability.

sounds good. will go ahead and keep Intangible Virtue in. never hurts to have backup token buffs
