Someone told me the commander 2016 was out of print already

I was told last night at one of my LGS, that commander 2016 was no longer being printed. The only place on line I can find anything about it is here.

Was wondering if anyone else had heard anything, and your thoughts of this bizarre change in practices for WOTC.

It's called supply and demand.

Same shit they pulled with Battle for Zendikar fatpacks. Choke off the supply, get people clamoring for the product, release a small amount of said product, then wait a while until people are literally foaming at the mouth, then flood the market and charge whatever the hell they want.

It's not exactly ethical, but it's a tactic that's been proven over and over again to be extremely effective throughout the years.

...or, as someone said in the comments of the video, they want you to play Standard.

But they have never cut off supply on the commander decks before. It suppose to be a mass printed product. To print for less than 2 months is odd for a product line that has been printed for 6-18 months since the second one.

You want me playing standard? Hmm? How about you make the format playable? Don't fuck with my card supply.

I agree; this is scandalous. If 2013-2015 can get away with an abundant supply, so should 2016 and subsequent releases. Why now?

Because Aether Revolt is being released. They want people buying Standard sealed product.

Well then, I guess I answered my own question (see my first comment on this post) :p

You say that the supply has been cut off.

I say, I can go anywhere that sells Magic cards, from Walmart to LGS, and find all five sets.

I sense lies. Typical stuff that happens a lot dealing with Magic. People trying to drive prices, and gullible people that spread whatever they hear. Don't worry though, the vast majority of people share the information they receive regardless of the truth.

Literally, you want the product, message me and I will send you the product, plus the price of shipping as it doesn't cost me money, and I will send to you for no profit to myself.

iAzire Wait what?

I'm not confused, I'd just like a bit of clarification in regards to your last sentence, please.

I will go out and purchase said Commander product you desire, you send me MSRP price + shipping costs and it is yours.

In other words, I will not mark up the price to make a profit myself, and I will not give a discount below MSRP as to not lose money. These products are readily available.

All are available at every store around my area, with multiple in stock. I don't believe there is a limited run as everything is so freely available. There hasn't been a single mark up, or any indication of limited supplies.

For additional information, I go to midnight releases with 60+ people attending. I don't think demand is short here.

iAzire Ah. Thank you for the clarification.

It read like I just pay shipping, and you would send me a 2016 commander deck since it would cost you nothing, as in, you can get them for free and were willing to kick down, or pay it forward, as it were.

There's not a single Breed Lethality deck to be found anywhere near me for less than $60.00, and I live 15 minutes away from CCG House in Vancouver Washington.

Send me a message. We can go through standard trading procedures on this site. No problem. If you desire paying less than $60, or you can have the speed of having it immediately, and pay that $60.

I already have an Atraxa deck, though, but thank you for the offer.

I wish more folks were like you instead of meanie heads who are only interested in money. :)
