Reanimation Deck Ideas

So one of my friends has a Karador, Ghost Chieftain reanimation deck that I thought was really cool and fun to play. I'd like to make a reanimation deck myself, but wasn't a huge fan of Karador and would like to possibly do at least one different color. Anyone have any suggestions for this?

The Mimeoplasm and Sidisi, Brood Tyrant are other very good reanimator EDH builds. I actually have a build of Sidisi that I play on my profile if you wanted to take a look to get an idea for how she works, or at least one way she can work. I've seen a buddy play a very odd build of Lazav, Dimir Mastermind where he mostly played the general for colors and his win con was typically Traumatize into Living Death.

I'll second the suggestion of Sidisi, Brood Tyrant. Another option if aggro-reanimator is something you might be interested in is Alesha, Who Smiles at Death. She's not the most powerful build I've ever put together, but she's just plain fun as hell to run.

Teneb, the Harvester is really bad ass and the only correct commander in this situation.

The Mimeoplasm,, Teneb, the Harvester, Balthor the Defiled, and Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper are all strong options that cover your colors.

The Mimeoplasm is a reanimate on a stick, and this build wants you to play lots of hexproof creatures/evasion creatures and a lot of fatties. Relies on self mill to get going.

Teneb, the Harvester is more of a control reanimator. You normally want creatures to go into the grave from the battlefield, since you have the perfect colors for boardwipes. You will win with either your opponent's creatures, or some combo pieces on your end that you reanimate.

Balthor the Defiled is all about playing lots of small creatures and getting them into the grave, then letting them die and re-enter for their ETB triggers. Cards like Gray Merchant of Asphodel let you kill your opponents, and you can also use sacrifice engines with Grave Pact type cards to sustain yourself. This strategy works exclusively with your own grave, and any graveyard hate makes you just turn into a midrange deck.

Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper lets you reuse as many creatures as you can. This deck is all about ETB and LTB triggers, trying to get loads of value out of them. Basically just try to outvalue them as much as possible.

Sometimes the less obvious choices are much better at reanimation than others.

Cards like Scion of the Ur-Dragon can be used in mass recursion and overwhelm the field much more reliably and in a more dynamic way than some of the cards that specifically feed into the graveyard theme.

With reanimation in mind, I think it is best to think about what style you want to play to. ETB effects, LTB effects, good stuff, sac effects, and a dozen other themes exist within the reanimation theme.

Cards like Kresh the Bloodbraided and Thraximundar both offer unique twists to the reanimation theme, and even Karador, Ghost Chieftain can be played in a ton of unique ways.

Phenax, God of Deception gives a reliable way to self-mill, but it's much slower than some other options. also others' assumption that you're on mill-them to begin can be fun.
