Rakdos, Lord of Riots

I'm still relatively new to EDH, but a newly spoiled card caught my attention as a potentially awesome general: Rakdos, Lord of Riots. I'm interested in possibly creating a deck around him, and I'm looking for some other perspectives on how to do that. My first reaction was to use the Eldrazi, Knollspine Dragon , Pestilence Demon and other high-cost Red, Black, and Colorless creatures that Rakdos's ability can "ramp" up to by using damage, life-loss, and life-gain prevention spells.

What are your thoughts and ideas on how the new Rakdos can be built around?

Artifact creatures may be a great idea, as Rakdos, Lord Of Riots can reduce their cost down to even be 0 to cast. Great EDH artifact creatures include ones that can cause life loss (e.g Bosh, Iron Golem , though that would want a LOT of artifacts to munch on), Solemn Simulacrum , Platinum Angel /Platinum Emperion , Duplicant , mana producers like Palladium Myr , etc. Those may be worth considering.

Life loss-causing creatures would be useful to you to set up casting Rakdos reliably; for example, Blood Artist or Falkenrath Noble .

Heartless Summoning to make things really absurd?

As an aside, instead of rnning a colorless generator like Palladium Myr I would suggest Iron Myr and Leaden Myr as Rakdos should be reducing the colorless costs of cards.

Why not run all three? All of them are useful for the mana acceleration?

Well one supplies colorless. He won't speed out your general and once your general is out you won't need much in the way of colorless mana.

Rakdos doesn't provide lower casting costs for noncreature spells, for a start; maybe a timely Magmaquake could do with some colourless mana help and get Rakdos started that way. Besides, Palladium Myr doesn't need to speed out your general necessarily, he can speed out other things too. Like a big bruiser! It may still be useful to start the game with :)
