hey guys im thinking about building a commander deck for the first time and i was just wondering if people normally include artifact and enchantment hate in their commander decks like do u think id have to worry about things like Disenchant etc thank you

EDH decks typically include a few hate cards for various targets. I'd be prepared to lose a few artifacts and enchantments, whether it be from specific cards (Krosan Grip , Disenchant ) or from board wipes (Oblivion Stone , Planar Cleansing ).

You could always include recursion in your deck, such as Buried Ruin , Eternal Witness , etc.

there will always be artifact and enchantment hate in edh. it's just something you have to deal with. i wouldn't worry about making a deck that deals with that. but that's just me.

just throw in a few Disenchant type cards and that will do. i dont do any mass removal and i play 6 way EDH games most of the time artifacts and enchantments dont get too out of hand. i run my Uril, the Miststalker deck and Kemba, Kha Regent deck and they do tend to overun people as they cant deal with all the stuff they throw out. but they are special cases just for sideboards lol

If you have white in your deck, Austere Command is amazing for EDH.

W/G can also make use of Aura Shards which usually becomes the default method of controlling artifacts and enchants at many of our tables.

Green also has Creeping Corrosion , which I run in every Green EDH deck I have.

And not to mention Krosan Grip , which is just insane.

People will find ways to destroy Swords. I would expect to lose them if they're causing problems, but it may take your opponent(s) a few turns to find his/her/their answer(s).

yep its all about luck of the draw as is all of magic really. you could put in 20 artifact and enchantment hate card sbut if you dont draw them you are stuffed lol. in multiplayer someone usually has something to deal with the problem if you dont but when you have alot of things to kill only a Planar Cleansing will do lol. I find in my swords EDH deck that there are so many equipment (over 25) that people cant cope and i end up overpowering people. if you see a darksteel plate though i suggest you card:Altar's Light that bitch as it has solely made me win when bolted to a Stonehewer Giant FTW lol
