What non-legendary creatures would be broken or very powerful as a commander? Or what non-legend do you wish was legendary?

You mean Deadeye Navigator? Yeah he is powerful enough in the 99 though not nearly as bad as people make him out to be. Would be pretty disgusting as a commander though.

I have simple tastes, but my favorite possibility with this would be Divinity of Pride. Just a tad bit broke.

Honestly though, I'd rather have Repercussion.

Nivix Guildmage would be horrifying in an instant/sorcery deck with a powerful mana base.

I think I'd do Sage of the Inward Eye. Powerful, cool color identity, flavorful, not broken, and reasonably costed.

Ethersworn Canonist, Eldrazi Displacer, Lodestone Golem, Young Pyromancer, Monastery Mentor, Fauna Shaman, Scavenging Ooze, Tarmogoyf, Kitchen Finks, Knight of the Reliquary, and any of the Archetype cycle from BNG would be degenerate.

I don't think that Tarmogoyf, and Kitchen Finks would be terribly broken. Loadstone's effect is also easily replaced with Grand Arbiter Augustin IV. Knight and Mentor would be deadly as anything though.

Monastery Mentor would definitely be my favourite pick. Young Pyromancer is not too far from it. Deathrite Shaman also seems very strong, and Nephilims Dune-Brood Nephilim; Glint-Eye Nephilim and Yore-Tiller Nephilim seem absurdly strong.
