Infect EDH Commander

Commander (EDH) forum

Hey everyone, I recently acquired the ambition to build an Infect EDH deck because I'm mean like that, but I got stuck on deciding the commander. I started out thinking to go Simic, because Simic commanders like Ezuri, Claw of Progress are good for upgrading creatures to hit for larger amounts of damage and close out games sooner, but those commanders miss out on , a really good color for infect. The problem is, there doesn't seem to be any right choice of a commander for the infect deck I want to create.

I would really appreciate your help in making a decision.

You could just go sultaI good stuff with Leovold, Emissary of Trest or Sidisi, Brood Tyrant.

The Mimeoplasm is the card you're after. Pitch an infect creature and Death's Shadow, play Mimeo and swing.

@enpc: I do like the sound of that. Could make for some combo shenanigans as well (like you mentioned).

Typically with The Mimeoplasm, people will run combo as the primary win condition and then run Skittles, Death's Shadow and Phyrexian Dreadnought as a backup. But I guess you can do it the other way around.

The Mimeoplasm is the way to go. Don't forget about Putrefax.

The Mimeoplasm is very, very powerful (as mentioned) and it will also be regarded as such by fellow players.

I played a more casual infect deck once, and I had tons of fun with Damia, Sage of Stone (for referential purposes: This Infection Poisons Your Soul)

A Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon voltron build can be pretty lethal, but has the drawblack of no G/U and infect where everyone can see it, so you can draw a lot of hate before you get yourself set up. One-on-one it is pretty awesome, but I'm still playing around with how to make it work in multiplayer...

As for Skittles, tokens and control, Contamination Koskun Falls Abhorrent Overlord are just a few examples.

My friend built Abzan infect with Anafenza, the Foremost to synergize with the counters that Anafenza gives to attackers. You don't have blue, but infect always seemed more GB heavy anyways. He also gets to randomly hose GY decks as well :)
