So I recently watched Joker and seriously loved it, really it's an amazing movie. I want to brew an edh deck totally based around the movie, characters, scenes (the stairs especially) Budget doesn't really matter as long as the cards are under $40 but I can spend up to $100 on a single card. Thanks in advance!

I think Descent into Madness perfectly captures the stair scene

Hey, the premise of The Joker is very Grixis in colors. for violence and revenge, for depression, darkness and craziness of Joker's mind and for the extreme intelligence. Although his intelligent shows much more later on then in The Joker movie. Later on when he becomes a super villain who doesn't have any real super powers.

A character in Magic who resembles Joker is Nicol Bolas. Joker and Bolas share the trait that they rely on others to do their dirty work. The last scene in the movie when the rioters are embracing the Joker as the new leader of the resistance can compare to Bolas and how all the evil creatures seem to be drawn to him and how he manipulates others to do his bidding. Bolas and Joker are both very smart and use their intelligence as their main weapon.

Nicol Bolas, the Ravager  Flip is my suggestion for Commander General. The movie is about Joker's transformation from a weakling to someone to fear. Bolas as Ravager is weaker than when Bolas is the Arisen. Ravager transforms into the more powerful Arisen. This compares to Joker's journey in the movie where he's a weak man in the beginning and the longer the movie goes the stronger he gets.

Chaos Warp and Grip of Chaos with the odd spot removal.

I agree with multimedia that Grixis seems like a great colour combination to represent the Joker.

I haven't seen the movie, so I can't say anything regarding most of the scenes. Looking at the possible Grixis commanders, the following jump out to me flavourwise:

Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge she turns opponents insane and becomes stronger.

Mairsil, the Pretender : Very fitting artwork, and he becomes stronger the longer the game goes.

Mishra, Artificer Prodigy : Vnother fitting artwork, and his decks tend to do some very convoluted stuff. Joker isn't that much about machines though.

Nekusar, the Mindrazer might work as well, especially with regards to the next paragraph.

I've heard that there's something strange with the clocks in the movie. How about Midnight Clock to represent this?
