Good Stax Commander/Colors?

I'm looking to try building a new commander deck and I've always liked Stax decks. If anybody has any experience playing Stax in commander, I'd like your opinions on a few things:
1) Good colors for Stax?
2) Good commander for Stax?
3) Good Stax cards in those colors?
4) How to make the deck consistent?
I've never played against or with a strict stax deck in my play group, but I've seen some interesting W/G builds with Selvala, Explorer Returned that may be worth considering. Runs things like World Queller, Smokestack, and Aura Shards.

The best stax general is Nath of the Gilt-Leaf. You have access to most of the typical stax cards, and your discard gives you things to sacrifice to Smokestack and such.
Also if you want your deck to be more consistent, just add lots of cheap tutors, like Demonic Tutor. This way you will always have those stax cards online.

As already said, Golgari is a great color combination for stax. Add red and you can run Shattergang Brothers. I run them in a non-stax deck and there isn't much that stays on the board. Add stax and they're brutal...

There's good stuff in pretty much every color if you can swing the cost go five color maybe with Child of Alara

I currently use Maralen of the Mornsong, but it's closer to a 75% deck.
I've seen a Daretti, Scrap Savant stax which worked well.

I'm currently having quite a bit of fun with Teysa, Orzhov Scion stax, personally calling it debtor's prison

When I think Stax I think Golgari. Specifically, Savra, Queen of the Golgari. Black and green have far and away the best on-dies triggers as well as the greatest capacity to exploit limited resources.
Outside of the Stax staples like Smokestack, Winter Orb, Lodestone Golem etc, these colors offer you:
Bloodghast, Nether Traitor, Reassembling Skeleton, Fecundity, Awakening Zone, Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger, Lake of the Dead, Pernicious Deed, Birthing Pod, all the Grave Pacts, green creature ramp like Sakura-Tribe Elder, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, I could sit here all day listing all the stuff in those colors that feeds the murder engine.
Dimir is good too, since that gives you Stasis and hard control, but that costs a lot more since you probably wanna go with high-efficiency artifact mana.
