You play your commander. Any commander. I play Godsend In the end lets say I exile your commander with Godsend Can you cast it anymore? This may be a dumb question... Just let me know haha

Here's my question, is my commander still exiled? If I put it in my command zone, it's not "the exiled card" anymore, is it?

It can be moved to command zone, however for as long as Godsend is on the board, you will not be casting it no more :)
Also this should probably be in Q and A

it's not exiled, going to the command zone is a replacement effect so it never got exiled. So it's still castable.

The ability that denotes what cards cannot be cast anymore is a linked ability, linked to the ability right above it. According to rule 607.2a, that ability refers only to cards in the exile zone that were put there as a result of an instruction to exile them in the first ability. Also, I can prevent my commander from being exiled by moving it to the command zone instead, which means there is exiled card with the same name as my commander, meaning I can still cast it.

Rules questions belong in the Q&A.
gufymike and MagicalHacker are correct. If you use the commander replacement effect to send your commander to the command zone instead of allowing it to be exiled, then Godsend 's last ability won't refer to anything. Therefore, you will be able to cast your commander again.

Right, I forget about that, we went over it with Whip of Erebos already.

If you commander is exiled, it goes to exile, then you decide whether to put it into the command zone or not. It was exiled by Godsend for a short bit, so it can't be cast. Please tell me if i'm wrong, i run godsend in my EDH.

That's a common misconception that many people have about the rule. The rule itself is a replacement affect, meaning it only goes to one place, not one then the other. It's the same reason Child of Alara s ability doesn't trigger if it goes back to the command zone.

@KillDestroy: Please check the post dates before replying to a thread. Next time, ask a new question instead of posting to an old one.

If it says you can't cast. Your opponent cannot cast the card. same works if you have Nevermore on the board
