Fun Cards to mess with the board/players

I am part of a play group that consistently has 5-7 players per game. I would like to build a deck that just creates politics and interferes with people. Basically I want to be a wild card at the table. Make me happy and get rewarded upset me and you will be punished. What are some of your favourite cards just to stir the pot.

I've tagged my deck that I'm starting with. Right now that commander is just a place holder until i figure out what colours I'm in. Hopefullly the card list will give you a general idea of the direction I'm trying to take.

So I built a Sisay, Weatherlight Captain deck that’s... basically just full of legendary creatures that f- with politics. Some games it plays like group hug, some games it plays like beatdown. It’s wild, and I love it.

My Politics Game? Legendary.

Xantcha. You can build her over 9000 ways, makes games very different depending what approach you take with her.

favourite wildcards... probably stuff like Scrambleverse , Dovescape , Warp World , Confusion in the Ranks . oh man theres so much fun in ruining politics. I've been playing five color chaos for a while (The Debauchery Tea Party) and if you dont overdo it your playgroup will just love it. Just dont play it too often and allow them to have a normal turn every now and then. otherwise it will end in bored ppl watching you handling 250 triggers each turn

Playing politics(at least politics a la command zone) is like 85% of the time the wrong move. It causes the game to go longer and usually gives you suboptimal plays.

As far as being a wild card, my suggestion would be to play almost everything at instant speed so your opponent never knows if you are about to counter a spell or flash in a creature or blow up their artifact or draw a new grip of cards. Probably using Derevi, Empyrial Tactician because he is in the best colors for this, can be "flashed" in with his ability, and his ability can be used to tap down your opponent's plans before they can use them.

GhostChieftain Politics is not always the winning strategy, you are correct. I would assert the counterpoint that not everyone is aiming to win to have fun. Depending on the day and how I’m feeling, my plan with Sisay is to get a bunch of legends and curses out that incentivize opponents to attack each other, then I never attack, watch the board unravel, and place second. That’s just how I roll some days.

When I play this Deck My goal is to make it to the final two then concede, I will never expect to win Just have fun. I plan to do some things like use Soul Conduit to swap life totals to make an attack that maybe wasn't going to be lethal turn lethal. I really like the idea of Exchange X from player A and B when I am player C.

Conjured Currency is the biggest pain in the ass in the game and if you can clone it all hell breaks lose.

It's funny, I would describe my play group like you described yours. As a result I wanted a deck to do just what you are asking about: to build a deck that takes advantage of large multiplayer games with political kinds of cards that "stir the pot" and make the game less predictable and more fun. But not a full on chaos deck, those are more random than this. It plays like a control deck, but one that's not destroying or countering barely anything. Instead we are focused on letting everyone build up a big scary board and then use them to kill each other for you. Then you just clean up whats left after they destroy each other. Sometimes it's a 2nd place deck, but it has won many games too. Having Fog effects are especially fun to play in EDH with because of the constant bluffing you get to do. Truly its a blast to play the deck.

ZendikariWol nice But I think I might use Venser, the Sojourner just because I have spare copies I could use.

I am deeply jealous of that. Also, random aside but it’s worth noting; the scariest two-card wombo-combo I have ever discovered on my own: Venser, the Sojourner and Djeru, With Eyes Open . Just tutor up a planeswalker every turn.
