Favorite Voltron Commander and why?

Just looking to have a fun discussion :)
Green is good for things like a once-off Fog , sure. Green also ramps and can occasionally draw . Red is good for, in this case, draw as well. Both can produce mana too, though red is often limited to things such as Geosurge and Seething Song . But protection is rather limited and you are forced to stack up equipment to give her Indestructible or Hexproof, though an occasional green Enchantment or something like Archetype of Endurance can do the trick.
Keeping her alive is difficult at first. Commander Tax makes it harder and harder. So politics play heavily into this design, because you want to get her out ASAP and keep her equipped. Not an easy task, mind you.
But at the end of the day, I find Atarka Voltron to be unexpected and fun.
So, what Voltron Commanders do you enjoy and why? :)
Karona, False God is my favourite Voltron commander. I dislike playing Magic aggressively, so find it rather enjoyable to build a nice pillow fort, sit back, and let other people do the work of dealing commander damage with my creature.
There's also a touch of nostalgia at play. I opened Karona in a pack ages ago, and instantly fell in love with her unique and difficult to build around ability. Sadly, she just does not have what it takes for 60-card constructed, even at the most casual tables. I'm glad casual commander gives me a place I can make use of one of my favourite cards ever printed.

I like Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest , just because One-Punch Man feels so unique compared to other Voltron strategies.

I love Mairsil, the Pretender . He can be troublesome to get going because you really need to cage a flicker effect like AEtherling . Once that is out of the way though he turns into one of the hardest to kill commanders I've ever played or seen played. I usually don't kill people with commander damage like a normal voltron deck does but the option is there. Usually I combo off with him in some gross fashion like Tree of Perdition + Spikeshot Elder . Still I tend to think of the deck in a manner similar to voltron because of how commander reliant it is.

Nice. :) All good answers.
The reason I started this thread is my roommate just built a Zurgo Helmsmasher Voltron deck and it got me wondering what else is floating around out there.

Chromium, the Mutable is my "voltron" Commander. Can't be countered. Flash. Doesn't need buffs. Really shines in 3 man pods, but can easily be a threat in a quad. I run answers tribal.

Ghalta, Primal Hunger . Can kinda stand alone as a voltron (double-strike = 1 shot kill), allowing for other creatures/spells for support, which I feel is a major weakness to the strategy. Plus, Ghalta should never cost more than 2

I've built a voltron deck on here that runs with Dakkon Blackblade . I just love how he can scale with the game, and provides a unique aspect to voltron, and esper, that you don't see much. Being Esper colors is sweet as well, it allows you to control and keep things out of his way. With Dakkon Blackblade it isn't hard to one shot someone because of how big he can get.

I actually LOVE playing Zurgo as a political piece. My fav voltron is kinda tough to say, but Tana, the Bloodsower with Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa or Akiri, Line-Slinger or Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder or Silas Renn, Seeker Adept , all good partner combos.
But honestly? The slot for my favorite voltron commander, if only it were legendary, is easily Cephalid Constable . This desperately underrated card should, in my opinion, appear in any voltron deck that can run it. I have ended so many games with this card and a good ol' Aether Tunnel . Throw some pump enchantments on that baby and watch 'em all concede.

I play a Molimo, Maro-Sorcerer deck. I call it my ramp deck and its fun. I also play a few haste enablers and it's so nice that he has trample naturally.

Sram, Senior Edificer - Cast + draw + pump, you found a way to remove him? Ok, I guess I'll recast him... and he filled my hand up.

I tend to like long lists of abilities over just a one-swing smash, so I designed this deck.

It's about as battlecruiser as I can make it at this point. Casual Atraxa isn't just infect and Superfriends.

I have two pseudo-voltron builds. They both run other game changing creatures (in case my commander is Counterspell 'd or Nevermore 'd too many times) but mostly plan on using the general as the wincon
Omnath, Locus of Mana is hilariously fun. If you can turn one mana dork, turn two Omnath, you can swing for 5 turn three, another 10 turn four, then gg turn five. Not many voltron decks can close out games that fast.
I use cards like Rogue's Passage and Bellowing Tanglewurm to push damage through, then cards like Hunter's Insight , Rishkar's Expertise , Soul's Majesty , Regal Force , etc can help carry you into a longer game
Aurelia, the Warleader is one of my wife's decks. Once she hits the board, shit is going down. Wrecking Ogre targeting her is a insta kill, Grafted Exoskeleton as well. Helm of the Host with her or Godo, Bandit Warlord goes infinite
Voltron can be tough if they have answers to your threats, but that's also part of the challenge and part of the fun!

I built a Sigarda, Host of Herons voltron deck a while back, with the aim to make the commander as hard to kill as possible. I filled the deck with ways to make her indestructible, so combined with her hexproof and ability to prevent sacrifice effects means that the only real way of removing her is global neg effects (like Black Sun's Zenith and Toxic Deluge ).

Uril, the Miststalker is definitely a fun option. Although I haven’t played it in months, here’s my decklist, which can easily be made budget friendly with a handful of changes.

Etali, Primal Storm - for a voltron experience that is TRULY different every game.

I've had Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief voltron deck for awhile, and I recently built a Ghalta, Primal Hunger voltron deck. Drana has built-in removal while buffing herself, and Ghalta is a big, stompy green deck.

Sigarda, Host of Herons is my favorite voltron commander, give her a totem armor and vigilance, throw down Dueling Grounds and she will hold down many enemies while also threatening to kill any opponent.

I would vouch for Rafiq of the Many . Bant has an assortment of options for aura based tron decks. In addition you already have ramp at your disposal plus with rafiq only costing 4 you can easily be putting a hurt on your opponent by turn 4 with a commander that innately has double strike when attacking alone.

I play Sliver Overlord , and while voltron is not exactly my first thought at winning, it certainly is quite possible when you have a 7/7 that can gain a lot of keywords quickly when you search up Bonescythe Sliver , Shifting Sliver , Galerider Sliver , and play effects from Sliver Legion , Magma Sliver , etc.

No love for Thrun, the Last Troll ??
He is incredibly fun and hard to remove.
Thrun. <—- Here’s one of my favorites. It has taken down a few tables since its inception.

Volrath the Fallen combines everything I love about Magic: necromancy, big mana, power at any cost, and one-shotting people out of nowhere.
