Was curious to see if a one drop commander could be made. Whatever colors necessary.

I mean there are 1 drop commanders which you could probably make an entire deck of one drops with. Specifically Rhys the Redeemed.

Is it a good idea? Probably not.

I think out of these I would build Zurgo, but I would want to make every card in the whole deck one drop.

I don't think that's a good idea. Like you'd have a really weak deck.

I've already made up a deck list if you'd like to take a look.

A friend of mine has a deck with Norin...it's absolutely fantastic, with lots of ETB and leaves play triggers. It's a sort of chaos deck that profits off the commander, for example with Confusion in the Ranks. Having only one drops is stupid though

While I respect your opinion, I have to disagree with you. Maybe it's just a personal thing. But hey, I'm sure not all of us could pull off an entire one drop deck. So I think I'll take my chances.

If you play that deck, you're gonna have a bad time. You'd be hard pressed to find enough playable cards in the format (i.e. not vanilla or balanced for other formats) to build it in the first place, and even if you do, it would be tantamount to hogtying yourself before riding into battle. And, looking at your list, I don't really see much that gives you any real card advantage. You'll be topdecking for most of the game by turn five.

Yup what he said

Horrible idea. Chalice of the Void turn one with one counter. Not everyone is that much of a jerk to do that, but my playgroup is!

And most creatures you'd get would be killed pretty easily. Even a storm deck, which is where I'd want a ton of one drops, would be missing crucial spells.

Ok the only drop deck that I could see possible is Sram, Senior Edificer because he can replenish you hand making all the aura equipment and vehicles a cantrip, but please prove me wrong and build me a drop deck that would be more competitive than this guy

griffstick..... challenge accepted

I could actually see SRAM being a 1 drop competitive voltron deck, especially with all the different 1 drop enchantments and equipments out there out there.

Also here's my guess at a decent all 1-drops deck. Elven 1 Drops

I think griffstick got it right, Sram would be the most sound choice for a 1-drop deck, if only because he provides lots of sound card draw for a Voltron strategy. Another low-cost commander who behaves similarly, in more than one color, would be a smarter choice, however, as that opens up the field for better spells.

Hang on is this a 1 drop deck with 1 drop commander contest, or just 1 drop deck with any old commander?

July 11, 2017 9:22 p.m.

griffstick says... #19

It's a one drop deck with one drop CMDR with sram being the CMDR out of the one drop range as the challenge to all the other one drop CMDR deck with one drop CMDR's

Sorry but the best answer is Edric, Spymaster of Trest.

Critical mass of 1 mana fliers / unblockables, good rampy 1 drops like Burgeoning, Exploration, Sakura-Tribe Scout, etc. Pair it with good 1 mana control like Swan Song, Rapid Hybridization, Nature's Claim, even wrath stoppers like Invasive Surgery.

You will have to have a few wincons above 1 mana like Beastmaster Ascension, Overrun effects, even the new Throne of the God-Pharaoh does a lot of work when you are swinging all out every turn.

Super aggressive, draws tons of cards, resilient with the right counterspells, and explosive when it comes to finishing out thr game. One of my favorite commanders period, but definitely the best commander for a one drops deck.

List if interested (hasn't been updated with some new cards, but-) Edric's Weenie Horde

July 18, 2017 12:49 p.m. Edited.

RedUndead40 the whole point of the one drop deck is to have absolutely everything (including the commander) be one drops. The only exception allowed is Sram because griffstick said no one drop commander can beat it. So Edric would be a no-go

RedUndead40 says... #22

Just dont see why Sram can be an exception but Edric can't...

All the other 2+ mana spells can be replaced easily to fit the theme.
