Equipment Support in EDH?

What good equipment support is there for EDH? I'm thinking of making an Equipment Voltron deck as practice in deckbuilding. I knowof Stonehewer Giant so I know the deck will have white in it, but what other good equipment support is there?

Er. Stoneforge Mystic should ring some bells.

Apart from that, you could run Steelshaper's Gift , Enlightened Tutor , Godo, Bandit Warlord , and a few others.

Godo is a good one I hadnt thought of. Adding him means I need a Boros General. Good options there. Anything not in white or red I should know about?

Also to add on to my question, what would the best general be for Equipment-Based voltron? the ideas I had were Avacyn, Angel of Hope , Gisela, Blade of Goldnight , Tajic, Blade of the Legion , and Jor Kadeen, the Prevailer . What am I not thinking of?

Honestly, I wouldn't even go Boros. Kemba, Kha Regent is where its at. She gets nuts, just saying. Otherwise, Puresteel Paladin is good if I'm thinking of the right card.

Nice ideas. I had thought of Avacyn for the sole purpose of her being nearly impossible to kill, especially with a sword or two on her

Yeah I understand that. The downsides however are her mana cost and sheer douchiness. I grumble when I play against Avacyn honestly... Another good general that can also be equipment and even enchantment based is Rafiq of the Many . That gives you access to Fabricate and Trinket Mage too.

Sigarda, Host of Herons is a nice choice because hexproof, anti-sac, and evasion. :3

Eight-and-a-Half-Tails is also a good one because he has a cheap mana cost and he can just turn spells white and protect himself and even your equipment. :3

There is very little that Narset, Enlightened Master won't be good at. You'd probably be better off finding spells that grant extra turns, but she summons equipment to become a hexproof voltron just fine.

Until she's inevitably banned from the format, anyway. She's just ridiculous.

You have to run red because of Magnetic Theft :P

It's already been said, but I'd like to add that I think the only legendary creature that is equipment-synergistic, voltron-based, and can't use auras well (most voltrons need both auras and equipments for optimum efficiency) is Eight-and-a-Half-Tails . The protection clause makes it near impossible to use auras (except auras that say they don't fall off due to pro-white).

@Ezrius: Narset, Enlightened Master isn't good enough to warrant a ban.

Eight-and-a-Half-Tails is really good kill you quick style. The protection you get is fantastic.

Kemba is good with card that can synergize with armies like Cathars' Crusade .

You can go with either really. Kemba's strengths is 8.5's weaknesses (8.5Tails is weak at blocking many creatures and fliers). 8.5's strengths are Kemba's weaknesses (on demand evasion and spot protection).

So it's really whichever you preffer. Both are very good.

With Kemba you also can get protection from stuff with Equipments like Lightning Greaves and Swiftfoot Boots.

White has everything you need. Don't be afraid to run a couple of enchantment based voltron cards either. White has support for those too.

dandugg listed most of the top-tier commander choices. Sigarda, Host of Herons is my personal favorite on the list. The extra protection from sacrificing creatures can save you a lot of trouble against black decks.

There are some less obvious choices that can make for decent voltron decks as well, like Geist of Saint Traft and Jenara, Asura of War .

@Steven_Fuckin_Hyde Kemba can't protect your artifacts on her own if you can dig up your Leonin Abunas or Indomitable Archangel .

Eight-and-a-Half-Tails can protect any of your permanents at any moment (except Split second spells of course).

Your Lightning Greaves and Sword of X and Y about to get hit by Return to Dust ? Pro-white-ify those artifacts!

Personally I prefer the fox, but the cat is fun too.

Anyways...

If you run voltron, be prepared to voltron another creature other than your Commander. Voltron decks are really vulnerable to shuffles effects like Terminus . So throwing your equipments on a utility creature isn't always a bad thing. I've had to kill someone with a Burnished Hart before. I pictured it with Mirran swords swinging around his antlers...

Also, Jareth, Leonine Titan is a good back up in case your commander gets shuffled.
