So, a when the Commander decks were released I grabbed a copy of Heavenly Fury. I really like the potential of Kaalia. But I don't think the stock deck really took full advantage of this powerful commander. I set out to upgrade the deck so it was more competitive. This is what I came up with. All-Rounder Kaalia EDH I am looking for comments and suggestions from more experienced EDH players, as this is my first serious EDH deck. Thanks

With Kaalia, the real struggle is keeping her alive to land your fatties. So a deck running her needs to use certain equipments and auras like Darksteel Plate and Indestructibility so she doesn't get owned. You have several of those, and that's good. Personally, I prefer indestructible over shroud or hex proof, since sweepers are common in EDH. Once Kaalia is safe, it's a matter of having stuff to drop with her. For that you need some increased card draw, and of course all the best demons, dragons, and angels Magic can offer you. I've seen quite a bit of variance here, with each player using their favorites. If you want some ideas for creatures or other, check mine out. Good luck!

Thanks for your input. You're right, our group does play lots of sweeper cards. However, my deck focuses on recursion, card draw and some control so bringing back my general from the graveyard isn't too difficult. The general idea was to build a deck where I could summon fatties without necessarily relying too heavily on Kaalia. Often, my group will try to tuck Kaalia or simply use a Pacifism or other control cards preventing Kaalia from attacking which is surprisingly effective at keeping this deck in check. I like the idea of putting a Leyline of the Void in the deck, my friend plays a Glissa deck which is based on artifacts that kill creatures when sacrificed then he brings those artifacts back thanks to Glissa's ability...very bothersome.

You guys have more patience than I do. Kaalia was out of my deck after a couple of plays. I played with Tariel as my commander for a long time and eventually decided to just abandon the whole thing. I pulled Bladewing the Risen out with the rest of the dragons and just made that my primary EDH.

Bladewing pimps out ALL the dragons.
