EDH Fight Deck
Commander (EDH) forum

With all the new DTK cards out there I once again start looking into the viability of a casual EDH deck that abuses the fight mechanic. Obvious inclusions would be Bow of Nylea, Archetype of Finality, Basilisk Collar, Domri Rade, Gruul Ragebeast, Foe-Razer Regent, Magus of the Arena, and Ulvenwald Tracker. So far no obvious commanders or builds seem to stand out to me. Gruul is obviously necessary to get the most out of fight, but maybe Jund would be the best for the easy inclusion of deathtouch. Right now I'm thinking about ramping into dragons for their evasion, and the synergy between pinging and deathtouch. I'm not married to the idea, and the inclusion of multiple ramp spells threatens to cut out a lot the the space the fight instances and sorcerries want to use. Has anyone else tinkered with this?
Make it with Dragonlord Atarka, add in Setessan Tactics, and call it "Atarkan Titan".

Probably Kresh the Bloodbraided would be a good commander due to the fact that all the death triggers will (hopefully) make him huge.

@awesomeguy37 Master of Cruelties is the meanest goddamn card in EDH, and you're a beautiful son of a bitch for suggesting it.
@Dr_Jay bet you can't say that 3 times fast.
@jandrobard Kresh is a very good idea.

@suneater definitely arena, especially if the errata now reads 'fights.'

I just say maybe because Arena and Magus of the Arena don't let you pick both targets, unlike modern "fight" cards.

I just built a deck like this. Maybe we can inspire each other.

I am thinking Jund for Master of Cruelties and Glissa, the Traitor and other things capable of getting First Strike/Deathtouch.
