So, was on facebook when I saw this on their page. Dark times ahead for green players.

Gaea's Cradle ban for duel is not really a surprise...at least I think so. Perhaps it will even be banned, in time, in all of EDH/ Commander.

As for the others... well I think they need to focus on making the other colours more versatile, instead of banning specific cards of one colour.

(Or, jokingly, just ban the island... ;) )

I guess for those without Facebook

Changes:

Reminders:

  • The watchlist is made for dangerous cards that could end up being banned (this is a change from previous listing systems, see below).
  • Before this update, Cataclysm was on the watchlist.
  • Necrotic Ooze and Dig Through Time remain on the watchlist.

"These changes apply on April 8, 2016. Of course, you can still contact us via our Facebook page. The next announcements will be published on July 18, 2016 (applying on July 22, 2016).

Until then, we wish you all many good games!"

As long as they don't ban Gaea's Cradle in EDH I couldn't care less about what they ban in duel commander.

I always thought that French was a boring that you can't thrive unless you don't play ish decks with tons 16+ counters on it.

Lgs owner said on Monday when the ban list came out, bunch of regulars got butt hurt they couldn't use their tasigur decks anymore, quit the format, and sold all of their stuff on the spot.

..sigh..

I'm very happy with the update. Tasigur being gone means that creature decks besides marath can thrive, which means, of course, that narset will be weaker, because she's not as good as tasigur against creature decks. (But is powerful against other control decks) Yisan needed to go because casting 2 spells and winning the game on turn 5 isn't particularly fair, to the surprise of exactly zero people. It'll also encourage a lot more diversity in elfball decks, which is nice. And cradle being gone is just another reason for you to play nongreen creature decks, like Zurgo and Thalia. I doubt that marath (or Jenara) will be banned in the next six months, because without Tasigur being the best deck in the format, other creature decks are significantly better.
