Commander games in your next of the woods, multiplayer or single?

At my location it is predominately multiplayer, however they need to remain competitive via single player.

I'm interested to know how people compensate with the target effects and global effects for the multiplayer aspects?

'Neck of the woods,' you mean?

Anyways, I'm not sure what you're asking here. I only play EDH casually with about 3 or 4 total players at a time. Since we just like playing EDH for the massive amount of shenanigans that occur, we don't typically use cards that are highly competitive, like Zur the Enchanter or Rafiq of the Many .

In multiplayer EDH, you're better off using more board-wipes and global effects than narrow, one-target cards. I would assume that 1v1 EDH is the exact opposite, where you'd want cards that take care of just a few creatures more effectively than your typical Damnation or Day of Judgment .

Yeah, it is the balance between multiplayer and 1v1 that I'm asking about.

In my opinion it (being multiplayer) slows the game down a bit so the ultra aggro type decks don't work as well. So cards that aren't as useful in 1v1 like Sundering Titan , Stormtide Leviathan , etc. become really important. Same for cards like ghostly prision, Propaganda , etc. are uber important.

i tend to find that my decks usually work just as well only because i have made them very efficient tbh. if you have tutors and land fetch etc you will accelerate nicely whatever happens but if someone is playing land destruction EDH i suppose i would lose horribly lol. wraths work in either format though i played my Horde of Notions deck which is awesomely dominating in multiplayer but in single player i thought it may be slow then i won just just by having Spawnwrithe in play beause he couldn't kill them all lol i had like 10 by the time he died lol :-) i suppose the sideboard is very important is very important if you wana play single player EDH because targeted kill spells would probs be better than wraths and certainly dick cards like Sorin Markov , Magister Sphinx and stuff of that ilk would be important too
