Let's hear your thoughts on Command Beacon. A new staple or utter jank? What say ye?

I don't really play EDH too much, but being able to ignore commander tax built into a land seems pretty good to me.

Well it makes Phage and Hakkon castable.

Staple for most decks. It can add colorless, so you really are giving up nothing for an excellent effect. Unless your deck is already glutted with colorless lands better than Command Beacon, I would say add it.

Ugh, soooo busted in Titania. Love it! And that's hilarious re. Phage the Untouchable & Haakon, Stromgald Scourge! Too funny, I wonder if anyone has built 'em yet.

It can be easily abused if you run Crucible of Worlds or anything that can retrieve lands. I say it's fairly useful for the majority of decks even if they use it once..

As somebody who runs Saffi Eriksdotter as a commander and has had her cost 10+ I am very happy for this card. I don't thin kit'll be a staple in every deck, but I think that certain decks will love it.

Given the right deck it is good. But not all decks care about casting their commander at all, let alone enough times for the commander tax to be high enough to warrant saccing a land to get around it.

Only adding colorless is another reason that some decks may shy away from it. Many commander decks have high color requirements and not everyone has all the best lands to use.

It is great for any deck that requires the commander to work properly, but if your commander is win-more it isn't really necessary. It would also probably need a Crucible of Worlds/Expedition Map/Petrified Field package for value.

Turn 4 Progenitus with Quicksilver Amulet is now possible.

It makes phage playable? I'm not understanding that.

@CharlesMandore: You put her into your hand from the Command Zone to get around the "lose the game" effect.

CharlesMandore If you cast Phage from the command zone her ETB effect kills you unless you have Torpor Orb, Platinum Angel, etc.

This land lets you put her from your command zone into your hand. Allowing you to actually cast her from hand.

Forkbeard I put together a list for Haakon, Stromgald Scourge, but knight tribal in mono-black is just not good, so you have to run Ashes of the Fallen/Conspiracy, Command Beacon, and some sort of discard effect to pitch Haakon once you have him in your hand. That said, once I got the pieces on the field, you it was actually pretty fun to use, but given that any deck capable of tutoring for all that stuff would be better piloted by Sidisi, Undead Vizier, it wasn't worth building.

Titania, Protector of Argoth is my first choice for this card.

I think Deathrender/Quicksilver Amulet and Iona, Shield of Emeria would be pretty nasty.

I don't like it one bit, considering I have "that one guy" in my playgroup that already had a Phage the Untouchable deck, and it already had a 95% win rate, only losing twice in all the times I've seen it play. so this making his game EVEN EASIER is horrific to think of, but as for the card in general I think it's really awesome.
