Closest Commander Game I have ever been in

So recently me and my two friends sat down to play a game of commander. I was using my The Mimeoplasm Dack, my friend John was using his Vorel of the Hull Clade deck, and my other friend Kris was using John's Nekusar, the Mindrazer deck. The game mainly consisted of John and Kris teaming up on me the entire game, until the end.
I mill Leveler and Laboratory Maniac into my graveyard, and use The Mimeoplasm as a copy of Lab. Maniac and Animate Dead as a copy of Leveler, removing my library from the game. However, I'm at 1 life. I have 6 blockers, and John has 5 viable attackers. Also, if John doesn't kill me, I win by Kris' Master of the Feast Trigger. John casts Roil Elemental to steal my Creakwood Liege, and uses Simic Charm to bounce one of my worm tokens, and attacks me for lethal. That still leaves Kris.
Kris is at 25, and John is at 23. Kris has Spiteful Visions and Nekusar out, and John has Clone as a copy of Nekusar, as well as a few other creatures. Feeling safe, John attacks Kris for a bit of damage. During Kris's turn, Kris uses Damnable Pact for 8, Dealing John 24 damage.
Rockleemyhero nailed the correct play there. Sounds like John missed a critical chance.

i just had a game were it came down to me and this one guy aaron. he had all flyers and swung in for 16 damage leaving me at 21. i cast Tooth and Nail getting Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Sheoldred, Whispering One so i can get Zealous Conscripts back from my graveyard on my next turn and combo out. i passed turn and he was able to get a few anthems out and swinging for 24 damage.

That sounds like a good game. How come John didn't just simic charm your labman, killing you at Kris's upkeep from the master of feast trigger. Then John could have used roil elemental to steal nekusar (but killing off his clone)forcing Kris to spend 7+ mana to kill it and recast it. Or just steal a different creature of Kris's if he had another out.
