Breya vs Daretti

I want to build an artifact deck but I can't decide between Daretti, Scrap Savant and Breya, Etherium Shaper. I was wondering if you could give me your opinions on which is better and a little bit on how their playstyles generally differ. I am going to be playing with my friends so these will not be competitive and they will be budget (around $150). Thanks!

Daretti simply screams, "graveyard recurring." There isnt really a debate, imo. His deck is all about tossing artifacts into the yard and getting back.

However, breya can be built a few different ways: recursion (like daretti), blink, combo, aggro, or any combination of. Having all thise colors really opens up your opinions.

Neither is really better, imo. I guess from a pure spike angle, breya due to flexibility and access to blue counterspell and draw

Honestly, I'd say choose Breya over Daretti. My friend had a Daretti deck when that commander set came out and currently has a Breya deck so I've played against both quite a bit. Now, I'm not saying Daretti is bad because he's a great artifact based commander. I've just become a huge fan of Breya the more I play against her. Plus, adding opens up so many more card options making it easier to sure up weak parts of the deck because your not restricted to one color. There are a ton of simple combos with her that can win games easy, and while none of her abilities seem overpowered they are all excellent and provide a ton of utility.... especially the -4/-4. When Breya is ahead, the -4/-4 makes it near impossible for your opponent to get anything to stick in play. The tempo advantage you get when your opponents have to worry about everything they play being removed immediately is amazing, it puts them in a position where they have to get immediate value from what they cast or their turn feels wasted. Not to mention, everything essential you could include in Daretti you can also include in Breya.

I will say though, depending on what cards you already have and what you need to pick up Breya may be a little tougher on the budget being 4 colors. She's also very popular right now and a lot of excellent cards for the deck have risen in price since that commander set was released. Granted a lot of them are colorless artifacts you would include in Daretti as well.

All in all, they're both great. Breya has more utility, being a creature (making commander damage an option), abilities that operate at instant speed, and having 4 colors. Daretti on the other hand may be a little cheaper to build.

If you were to ever upgrade them to a competitive level, which typically happens to most decks, Breya is the better Commander.

Daretti will never be on the same level as Breya when it comes to competitive, but he is also a lot cheaper to optimize being a Mono Commander and his color being .

I say this because most Commander decks get upgraded over time, and before you know it, you are playing with a 75% deck when you were going for Casual. If you keep upgrading, you could easily have a Competitive deck.

Because of your budget, I suggest Daretti. Basically, a preliminary Daretti deck will be much cheaper than preliminary Breya.

I just got a really good deal on the Breya precon and picked that up so I think I'll just upgrade her. What are a few cards I should add when doing a quick upgrade?
