Best animal token makers

Commander (EDH) forum

I'm making an EDH-deck with an animal theme with Roon of the Hidden Realm as my commander. The goal is to put a lot of animal-tokens into play, preferably with ETB/LTB-effects to flicker more and more tokens in. Here's what I have so far:

Creatures
Thragtusk
Hornet Queen
Trostani's Summoner
Armada Wurm
Terastodon

Spells / Artifacts
Swan Song
Curse of the Swine
White Sun's Zenith
Beast Within
Storm Herd
Trading Post

Do you know of more? Please share.

Turn to Frog , Pongify , and Rapid Hybridization are a lot of fun.

Garruk, Primal Hunter can put plenty of beast tokens into play.

Keeper of the Beasts can trot out a pretty big army given enough time.

Rampaging Baloths gives you a guy when you drop a land.

Spawning Grounds

Beck / Call Call puts four birds into play, and if you can fuse it with Beck you get to draw four cards!

Fable of Wolf and Owl can generate many creatures over time.

Seller of Songbirds only puts one bird into play, but you can blink her around to get more.

Sword of Body and Mind is a pricy option, but it does make wolves (and mills) when you hit someone.

Kazandu Tuskcaller can make a good amount of guys, but blinking her will shave off all her level up counters.

Along with all of this, Doubling Season , Primal Vigor , and Parallel Lives are a great help. With all of them in play, a card that would put just one creature into play will instead put eight down.

That's all I've got. Hope it helps.

Rhys the Redeemed is good for making copies of all your tokens and he works good with the previously mentioned Parallel Lives .

O didn't see that he was already on a comment here. Voice of Resurgence is also pretty good if you can afford it.

Caller of the Claw is pretty awesome, especially with Roon's ability to blink it then return it at the end step if an opponent wraths.

if you don't mind sacking a bit of tokens, then mycoloth will do tons of work in this deck as long as it stays on the field

Why does everyone always forget Sprout Swarm ?

We didn't forget it. Saprolings aren't animals. They're plants.
