Aluren Generals

I'd like to be able to play an Aluren-centered deck in EDH. To my knowledge the best generals to use in combination with the aforementioned card are Momir Vig, Simic Visionary and Animar, Soul of Elements, but I would like to try something different. What generals (or partnered generals) have you found to work well for this style of play?

Thanks!

Saffi Eriksdotter is ok with Aluren. While she doesn't go infinite with it, quite a large number of creatures within the deck are free casts.

Hmmm...Ezuri, Claw of Progress doubles as a win-condition. I never thought of him. Good find. I already have a G/W general so I'm not really looking to double up on the same color combonation. If I were to use G/W again I'd want it to be in combitnation with other colors.

Well, I can't take the credit, I just looked Aluren up on edhrec.com

I'm not sure why i didn't think of doing that in the first place. I'm also really surprised to see that Ezuri, Claw of Progress is the top general for this strategy.

You could try Riku of Two Reflections. Any free creature you cast you get a copy of along with any others.

@iAzire: Thank you for elaborating on the strategy incorporated with Ezuri. Taking infinite turns might be a little too savage for me though lol.

@Poper187: Great suggestion!

You don't need to take infinite turns, that is just Sage of Hours.

When running Ezuri, Claw of Progress, there will be a few creatures that Aluren misses like I mentioned above, but the vast majority of his creatures will be able to be cast with Aluren. All while gaining his Experience counters.

The real answer is Edric, Spymaster of Trest. Fill your deck with cheap evasive weenies, draw your whole deck or tutor to find aluren.

Before you know it you have 15 evasive creatures out on turn 6 and then just Beastmaster Ascension, Overrun, Triumph of the Hordes, Biomass Mutation, etc for the win.
