Rocky and Bullwinkle(Non-Budget)

Trying to brew something somewhat playable in cEDH, but I wanted it to be slightly janky. It's based on infinite mana.

It's a little clunky right now, and I think I'm missing something -- probably cEDH experience TBH. But I'd like to know your thoughts.

Haven't written any primer yet.

Thanks in advance!

I don't mean to be a killjoy at all here, but "Janky" and "cEDH" are generally antonyms in this context. cEDH requires a tuned and streamlined approach that is generally antithetical to jank.

I know, and I don't think the deck is all-out jank -- it's just not one of the accepted t1 decks. I thought I'd rather go with a silly theme than take some netdeck and play with it.

Theres nothing wrong with experimentation within the realm of cedh. However, I really think you should write out a primer to explain your thought process. Why this commander/these cards/lines to victory. Currently, just glancing at it, it looks like a mosh of all of the popular strategies but theres not really any glue that holds them together.

Also, play some games on that nexus discord. I think they require a 15 game minimum before you can try out brews.

Well, I do need more experience. Might as well mess around a bit.

I'd still like to be able to use this gameplan, especially as I ordered a handful of cards for it, but most of the cards are at least low-end staples like Talismans and Swords/Path, so I'm not too worried if I end up scrapping it. I just liked Rocky and Bullwinkle.

As aforementioned, a good deck description can go a long way.

It seems your win condition is some kind of Jace, Wielder of Mysteries and Demonic Consultation. There are no major mana sinks, so I don't see the point of infinite mana. I moreover see that you're trying to achieve your win condition by different paths, be it hermit druid or others. I think this approach, albeit good on paper, has been taken too far. You're sacrificing interaction for redundancy. Redundancy is important, but is better achieved with tutors. One or two copies of the same effect are more than enough in most cases.

Look to improve on the small things: try to substitute sorceries with instants that do the same thing like Fragmentize with Nature's Claim (which is better overall). Be patient and you'll do it!

After getting some tips here and from r/CompetitiveEDH, I think I'll mostly be proxying Consultation Kess and some Korvold variant and get some practice before coming back to this.

I think it's reasonable that I can shift directions and turn the list into some other 5-color commander, or I can brew some more in the future once I have cEDH experience.
