What commander should I pilot next?

Commander Deck Help forum

Since I figured out the basics of commander, I have ended up with 5 diffrent commander decks.

Current Commander Decks Show

I have my 5 EDH decks, but I feel like I still have so many legends, and building/playing EDH is so much fun. So I have grabbed most of my legends, good and bad, and posted them here. I would like to know which one you all think should pilot my next EDH deck.

Note: I am trying to preserve as many of my non-edh decks as possible, since not everyone likes to play commander all the time.

The Legends Show

Wow, thats a lot of legendaries that aren't currently commanders! What do you guys think? Which legends here are the most fun to build/pilot? I would love to know! :D

You could build a sac reanimator combo deck with Alesha, Who Smiles at Death at the helm with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker in the 99.

Yea, I agree with the above. Lots of your mono red guys could go in Alesha, same with really any of the on color legends. I have a Janky all foil/<$1 per card draft chaf Alesha deck and it's so fun winning by recurring, saccing and recurring Alesha. She's probably my most "casual" edh deck but is pretty solid actually.

I also have a Narset deck to do all the busted things. Equally as fun for me, but if you already have a deck that people hate to play against she might not be the best choice. Just to throw that out there from experience

The other issue you run into with Narset is that in my playgroup we kind of nicknamed it the "Narset Autopilot" deck. It's basically just keep attacking and hope you don't whiff. And at that point you either just outright win or you trip over yourself eventually and your opponents just wreck you. But for most of it nothing is really happening other than "take another turn/combat step".

Yea pretty much. I call it my solitaire deck because that's what happens. I get bored with edh and am more of a 60 card deck player so Narset was my way to stay engaged for more than 5 minutes at a time before getting bored.

Looking again, you could totally do a Mardu legends/goblins deck. Lots of your goblins are legends and can recur with Alesha's ability. Then you could put Midnight Guard in to win out of nowhere and go infinite with Kiki

I think Medomi can be fun. Not super competitive, but I've been considering one for gits and shiggles. Part of that is just because I use neither white nor blue often in edh though, and I'm looking to branch out a wee bit.

I did a deck with kiku. It's fun. Hard to win consistently but when it wins it's usually do to some stupid combo. Hey check out my deck Fieldsplosion

Momir Vig, Simic Visionary is a really great Commander. In fact, I have a really hard time justifying doing any UG Commander over him, simply because he's such a ridiculously great enabler that rewards you in a format with lowered consistency for running cards you already would be running.

If you don't want to remove him from another deck (or make him the Commander of that deck), then I'd suggest Sidisi, Undead Vizier depending on your meta game. You can basically build big mana black (Cabal Coffers, Vesuva, Thespian's Stage, Exsanguinate, tons of disruption, etc.) and you can treat Sidisi as, "Pay 5 mana: Search your library for Ad Nauseam and win the game." Or you could go the slow route and try to win with Exquisite Blood/Sanguine Bond, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Triskelion, the list goes on. Sidisi functions as a great enabler because she's basically 5 mana to get to what makes you win (if you can't tell, I love Commanders that tutor).

Narset is far and away the strongest out of those listed. I would advise building around her. She typically wins the turn after she resolves.
