Is Mardu where vampires want to be in EDH?
So the White does add some interesting bits.
You don't get much in the way of vampire creatures worth playing, besides Edgar himself, who provides a lot of pressure, and can act as a lord you can cast from the command zone.
You do however, get access to Sorin who can vomit out vampire tokens, act as an anthem or provide CA. You get access to enchantment hate, and more removal. And you get some cool anthems and stuff.
Way I see it:
Mono Black is a midrangey slow deck with the type being for value as opposed to a focus.
White/Black is a life drainy varient that likes to bleed folks out.
Red/Black is a more aggressive version that wants to keep the combat steps flowing and punishes people for not having creatures to block.
Mardu is a more tokeny type build that wants to go wide and swing in hard.

Grixis vampires are also good. They have the benefits of blue so while they may not have life gain like white they do have control over opponents without being too overbearing

I have figured I want to do Tribal Vampires with Reanimator as a sub-theme. so Mardu seems to be the way to go.

Mardu has opened up the Vampire tribal arena, yea. My favorite is still Olivia Voldaren though. If you would like, here's my tribal deck, here.
