Utility for Yidris?

Commander Deck Help forum

So my Yidris deck has been through at least five different phases- Precon, Random Stuff, Mill, Wheel, Wheel/Storm and I am currently moving it away from part of the wheel aspect (taking out Archfiend of Ifnir, Nath of the Gilt-Leaf, etc.) and moving towards a more flashy spellslinger/stormy function, leaving essentials like windfall. However, whenever I play, I seem to be lacking in the following areas: Protection and Removal (targeted and mass). I am asking for advice when it comes to choosing spells for these. Please check out my current Yidris decklist for suggestions and comment there. Thank you kindly.

If you want help with a specific deck, it's usually a good idea to post a link to it. Especially if there's a potential that you have more than one of the same commander lists.

Generally I found the easiest way to protect Yidris was to run a counterspell suite that you could cascade into with not much ill effect. Remand, Unsubstantiate, Mystic Confluence - basically counterspells that didn't just straight up counter stuff so you could use them on yourself if you needed to. And running a few cheap counters is not the end of the world. Swan Song is amazing.

Whispersilk Cloak, Swiftfoot Boots, Lightning Greaves are all good. Note that if you use greaves or anything else that gives him shroud and you want him unblockable, put the unblockable affect on him first then attach greeves. Blatantly obvious I know but the devils in the details

Im thinking of ordering Kess, Dissident Marge for my deck- it's got like at least 35 instants and sorceries and a couple more after I get mizzixs mastery and blasphemous act. Thoughts? Is it worth the investment for a yidris deck? Also I'm getting a guttersnipe too.

I think Yawgmoth's Will would get you more bang for buck. Kess isn't bad, but she's better fitted to a control deck. Though I appreciate that that cars is quite expensive. Honestly, a Regrowth would do more work I think.

Yawgmoth's will is great. It is also 40 bucks- affordable but not ideal. I'm sorry I failed to address this earlier, but could suggestions be $20 or under? Thanks.
