Lazav, What's Yours is Mine

I could use some advice on my deck's mana base. After using it this summer I feel comfortable with the land count and accelerator's in the deck, but I'm trying to ensure U/B mana distribution is as adequate as possible. This isn't meant for tournament play.

My main question, how many basic lands should I run? And are there any non-basic land additions you would recommend that is/are under $20?

Watery Grave and Sunken Ruins are on the way. I've considered Darkwater Catacombs, but not sure if it's really needed. I want to add River of Tears but wonder if it's too clunky. I'm working on obtaining a Creeping Tar Pit. Tolaria West I'm also looking to add and I'll likely be removing the two Life Lands in there.

here is a good site that tells you what lands and their prices go well with any particular commander.

I also run a Dimir commander deck so I can tell you that River of Tears is very clunky and probably not worth it. Sunken Ruins is a solid upgrade of your bounce-lands so I would cut one and replace the other with a basic land. Even though your deck is predominantly blue, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth is usually an auto-include in anything running black. Darkwater Catacombs is likely worth putting in your deck. Halimar Depths is a solid tap-land that can help fix your deck a tad.

Raging_Squiggle: Thanks for the link.

Wizno: Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth would really fix that swamp mana for me, I'll see about obtaining one. I'm actually going to keep my 2 bounce lands, they are slower mana growth but they give me the ability to re-use (should the set-up allow) my scry land, Halimar, Skyline Cascade, and Mortuary Mire should I get the chance. Life-lands or Basics will get the boot. Though I'm hesitant to get rid of too many basics.

Thoughts on Urborg, Bad River, Magosi, the Waterveil, Moonring Island, Soldevi Excavations, and Shizo, Death's Storehouse?
