& NOW THERE IS ONLY ONE.

It's been decided: Akiri, & Bruse Tarl Collab one last time in the true last attempt at cEDH Boros.

Obviously, suggestions are welcome, & while both have some degree of Stax/Prison in them as an idea, I also wanted a secondary theme in mind. But the following card types ruin these decks:

Torpor Orb Effects

Rest in Peace Effects

Not having asymmetrical effects.

(I could make a whole list in this case, but I have to commit to something...)

One Decklist has Mirrorwing Dragon, Zada, Hedron Grinder, & Feather, the Redeemed all at the same time. Are any truly needed? Well, we can say the Dragon is dead, so that leaves us w/ Zada & Feather. (sigh...) I'd rather put Feather, the Redeemed in the 99 in that case, or I could also keep Zada as well.

But IF I did, I'd have to center the deck on both. So, nope. Not adding either (Too Late; A Goblin Ally, & an Angel already snuck in...).

But if we're going for Tier 3: High Power; which is still a hopeless case for so many running , but what is required for this feat w/ the worst colors? & no, Ol' Feather doesn't count. That said, I'll have to lower my Expectations for now. But what stratagems to use? We've Stax, but what about a secondary decktype? Value Engine? That's what I'm thinking of right now, though I'd rather suggestions than opposition of as a result. If this deck can't truly be made well in such fashion (Tier 3 has some great non-Boros CMDRs in their colors so, who knows?), I'm putting my money where my mouth is, & give up the whole campaign of cEDH Boros for good, but only if we did a good enough effort to warrant this possibility. Though I still will plot to make a Haktos the Unscarred Exalted Deck even if this is successful. As of now, I need 91 DAMN cuts. Any ideas for those 91 cuts?

All right. I said enough. I just hope one wants to help as THE GAUNTLET IS THROWN.

good luck...

Judgment Day: Avacyn the Purifier EDH [PRIMER]

This deck is aewsome, I have tried a few times and never let me down, even in defeat it put up a really good fight.

A fast "voltron" deck with double strike creatures and a solid plan with avacyn and some SAC creatures.

The other way you can play boros and try to keep the pace with the other colors is to put a lot of mana rocks and cards like Outpost Siege, Stolen Strategy and The Immortal Sun.

I have tried with 10+ of then, the deck really starts to flow better, so you can control the board and finish with big angels and stuffs like that, some cards that prevents from losing is good against combo decks.

Aurelia, the Warleader is a good general for this, one big creature attacking two times can hurt a lot.

And last but not least you can go the dirty strategy, that's where Boros really surpass the others colors but the social contract held us from doing it.

And enchantment deck with Decree of Annihilation, Obliterate and Armageddon.

If you could put some Sulfuric Vortex, Assemble the Legion or Outlaws' Merriment it's likely that your opponents will concede.

Akiri/bruse artifacts would be what I would assume to be the best boros cEDH shell. Both synergise with the heliod ballista combo in some way so there is a valid combo strategy, and white and red each have things they do with artifacts. Maybe drop in a kci and make it an eggs type list so you can dig through your deck some since card draw is tough to come by in boros.

@GhostChieftain: I see. So, individually how does Heliod, Sun-Crowned + Walking Ballista work on their own as a combo, if so? Same for Aetherflux Reservoir + Heliod, Sun-Crowned + Karn, the Great Creator ; I wonder if it can work also...

If you want to compete at a cEDH table with a boros deck, maybe Gerrard, Weatherlight Hero? You can do some degenerate things with Scroll of Fate, Baubles, MLD, etc.

Update: ...

...

& WE'RE OFF!

Who will decide to make me choose a good cEDH CMDR that is neither Depala, Pilot Exemplar, nor Feather, the Redeemed?

We got...

Gerrard, Weatherlight Hero

Akiri, Line-Slinger/Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder Partners

Aurelia, the Warleader

Haktos the Unscarred

& Archangel Avacyn  Flip

Aiming for the same GOAL!

Put your votes in now, & why they should be the cEDH CMDR to beat; be it abilities, support, etc.!

(ugh... THAT sucked.)

No really, though. I'd like your thoughts on this, please. What do each of these 5 Boros CMDRS have that can compete even on a Tier 3 at MAX level, & what are their flaws in cEDH (Partners Start at the Same Command Zone; thus why I didn't say Six.)?

Place your Opinions, Ladies & Germs... XP

Man, I really loved the Gerrard option, specially for this.

Gerrard’s triggered ability returns artifact and creature cards even if Gerrard leaves your graveyard before you can exile it.

And for this

If Gerrard is your commander, you can exile it into the command zone from your graveyard. You’ll still return your artifact and creature cards.

Is there a way to abuse of It? It Will be insane, you cand go for the eggs strategy with Stax creatures to hold the game, and combo off with Gerrard.

I didnt search about but If exists my vote in on him.

Gerrard is worded in a way that he isn't easily abused, especially in these colors (entirely different story if you add in green or blue to his mana cost). He is a solid option as a Krark-Clan Ironworks eggs commander to just help you go off on a big turn, but he has more building requirements to make him do only the things you want and only when you want them.

The partners are both low cmc and are good for combat damage. Granted, combat damage isn't the most amazing in a competitive meta, but people play things like Ad Nauseam and Necropotence and sometimes have very painful manabases so combat damage can be very relevant depending on the game. The best part about these two is that you don't really have to build voltron for akiri to get a cheeky commander damage kill or for bruse to make akiri just hit like a truck. Just build low cmc artifact goodstuff and maybe toss in a relevant combo that uses artifact like the god ballista combo.

Aurelia is a substantially worse version of Godo, Bandit Warlord because they win using the same combo, but godo can search for helm on his own. Imo aurelia is a no go.

Haktos is hot garbage in a competitive meta. You don't want to be building voltron vs things that have a ton of removal. 4 swings to kill 1 player.... 12 to kill the table.... not good.

Archangel avacyn is just too slow for the amount of impact it has. If she were maybe a 3 drop she has a solid chance as good mana dork removal to slow down greenX decks, but at 5 mana you can be doing so much more powerful things. Lets compare her to some other 5 drop commanders. Elsha of the Infinite has a game winning combo. General Tazri has a game winning combo. Gitrog, Inalla, kenrith, Sidisi, Undead Vizier all have combos. If you are spending 5 mana, you best be trying to win the game with it at this level.

Gerrard egg storm stax for sure. I think it could be promising. Everything else seems too underwhelming.
