Commander Deck Help forum

So I want to build a superfriends, my group allows proxies [within reason not $80+ cards] So I wanna see what staple walkers i should have and which 4 color combo I should use?

I'm torn between Yidris and Atraxa, and while i love that Atraxa synergizes a bit more then Yidris, i think red and it's walkers are a bit more useful then white in some ways.

Also should i go enchantment pillowfort style or more of a board of creatures?

Enchantment pillowfort with the Oaths seems to make my buddy's deck a threat. he does play Atraxa though. IMO Yidris would make for an interesting superfriends commander, but I would only really like access to Bolas and Sarkhan. In my mind, red adds access to double strike to make cascade happen more. Cascading expensive walkers into more walkers would be sweet though.

White allows you to play stuff like Oath of Gideon to make tokens and have them hold the fort for you to chump anyone who can get through the fort.

Thanks for the ideas, I used to have a maelstrom walkers deck which is why i'm debating Yidris, sometimes those cascades are a blast. I mean picture this [though so hard to pull off]: Yidris has doublestrike and you have 1 extra combat step [lets say aggravated assault] so if you deal damage on both combat steps thats 4 activations, then you maelstrom wander getting 6 cascades of CMC 7 or less, thats pretty much anything in the deck. Though what you get could be bad, always funny to see.

On the flip side Atraxa feels like a safer, easier to pull off and survive deck, fort up behind enchantments, using sphere of safetly to defend walkers and use propaganda and ghostly prison [plus sphere] on yourself

Id say go with the yidris deck it sounds like already like he idea and it sounds like the payoff would be more fun to play in the long-term versus the pillow first deck cause those decks usually play only one way

OK, so my friends advised me to try out Kynaios and Tiro for the Superfriends, they figure losing black is actually the best option since the biggest lose is gonna be the tutors which are replacable.

So now i have the issue [regardless who i chose] how should i build it? I'm still leaning toward pillowfort tactics, so how oes this split look:

~25 walkers [i'm very worried that's too high but UGH too many to choose from and each has a reason i want them]

~20 enchantments [unlike walkers i feel this is too low, but i think i can work with 20]

~35 Lands [I'll have ways to ramp with walkers giving drawn and spells i have so this is no issue IMHO]

~7-10 ramp spells [as said above i want to get lots of lands and fast, sure i can run exploration and burgeoning but still want other ramp]

~10-13 protection spells and utility creatures [such as E-Witness, Cyclonic Rift, tutors, etc]

I have to say, even though my Superfriends deck is still very much in testing, I believe Five Color is the way to go. There are multiple Commander choices that are good like Sliver Queen to generate chump blockers and my preferred Commander Horde of Notions due to its synergy with Maelstrom Wanderer.

At least to truly optimize Superfriends, you want every Planeswalker available to you. I feel as though as the weakest Planeswalkers, but there are a few that are fairly strong.

Going Four Color should save you some money. I feel is also the weakest color in the Commander format.

Atraxa is probably the better choice due to the colors, and synergy offered for the Superfriends.
