Sidar Kondo: give them toys to fight each other with!

Commander Deck Help forum

Hey gang, first thread here so please feel free to provide any constructive criticism! Haven't been active in a forum for quite some time..

Anyways, I'm contemplating sort of an odd strategy to utilize Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa as a general. I'm considering Vial Smasher the Fierce or Ludevic, Necro-Alchemist as his partner. Right now it seems like black brings more to the table for this particular strategy and I love b/w removal options but it's possible there are things I've overlooked in blue, and Ludevic insentivizes the kind of thing I'm going for and gives me access to Edric, Spymaster of Trest for total craziness!

The main strategy of this deck would be to give my opponents little 1/1 and 2/2 tokens to hit each other with providing evasion with Kondo, maybe turn up the heat with goad and goad-like effects while trying to deter combat damage directed to myself with cards like Ghostly Prison, Sphere of Safety, Crawlspace, Dictate of Erebos, Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs, Mystic Barrier. You get the picture!

Mob Rule, Insurrection, Army of the Damned and Massacre Wurm are possible win conditions and Overseer of the Damned, Blood Artist, Soul Warden, Vicious Shadows, and Revel in Riches benefit from a carnage of etb and death triggers. I can also benefit from the Commander 2017 curses so that's something to consider as well!

What I feel I need the most help with is cards that put tokens into the battlefield under an opponent(s) control. They're definitely a corner case and it's not entirely easy to do a search for them either seeing how the wording varies quite a bit for cards that do this!

Some I've found are:

I'd also love to hear some interesting synergies if someone comes up with any! This will definitely be a casual deck so no suggestion is too outside of the box, please feel free!

Thank you!

P.S. ooooooh! I just discovered Mogg Infestation!!

You need to have ways to force your opponents to attack. For example, Bident of Thassa. You activate, they can either pay through your Ghostly Prison effects and attack you or attack an opponent for free, but they must attack. Same idea with Avatar of Slaughter, Basandra, Battle Seraph, Curse of the Nightly Hunt, Fumiko the Lowblood, etc

Benevolent Offering, Hungry Lynx, Kamahl's Summons, Phelddagrif, Questing Phelddagrif, etc

I'd do Sidar + Ludevic. Get Grenzo, Havoc Raiser in there. Cruel Entertainment. Any red - force attack enchantments... of which there are plenty. Avatar of Slaughter (because 2/2 suddenly double striking is great). Forbidden Orchard and things like it. The new curses could be KEY: Curse of Opulence, Curse of Verbosity, Curse of Disturbance, Curse of Misfortunes, Overwhelming Splendor

Those new curses have really pulled some weight in my playgroup... Most are not hard-core enough to warrant a removal but they really do incentivize hitting that specific player (and the caster sees additional benefit)

Fun idea!

Goad effects. I echo the call for Grenzo, Havoc Raiser.

Disrupt Decorum is my personal favorite!

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! I appreciate the token generators you've linked RazortoothMtg the deck can't really do what it wants to do without them!

Oh my gosh I just realized just how much Bident of Thassa would pull some weight in this deck, I really like that one! Grenzo, Havoc Raiser seems like a must include now that he's been suggested as well!

Suns_Champion: Disrupt Decorum gives me so much inspiration to play red in commander, I just love some of the chaos red has access to!

I just prefer when I am conveniently placed out of the effects of said chaos. For that reason I usually prefer Fumiko the Lowblood over Avatar of Slaughter. That being said Fumiko can get the party started and Avatar can finish the job!

Still really uncertain whether I wanna go WURG or WBRG, blue can incentivize attacks with possible card draw a la ludevic, edric, and curse of verbosity and can even redirect attacks with Illusionist's Gambit / Portal Mage. But I think I'm more comfortable giving my opponents little weeny creature tokens that I can prepare my deck to deal with than I am offering them extra cards that might totally unravel my strategy! For that reason I believe Curse of Disturbance beats Curse of Verbosity in this situation. Black also has the cards that insure that if someone gets fed up and wipes the board I get to benefit from it with all the death triggers!

Thanks for all the helpful discussion! Feel free to comment further if you have any other ideas!

Not necessarily something I'd include in the deck for certain but I'd also find it hilarious to Trumpet Blast someone else's attacking creatures directed at an opponent.

With Kondo's ability you can choose to cast it before blockers are assigned forcing the attacking player out of Kondo's evasion and giving the other opponent a chance to make blocks, or you can cast it after blockers and before damage to hit the defending player even harder.
