Replacing Nullstone Gargoyle

I'm living that XMage life for Commander.
I'm looking to use Nullstone Gargoyle in an Animar, Soul of Elements deck but that is apparently against XMAGE's personal beliefs.
So I'm looking for similar cards. My knowledge of the deeper and older world of Magic is limited so I don't know all these sweet cards off-hand, not to mention I rarely partake in Commander.
Anybody know any effective replacements or similar effects? It's probably obvious to most of you but Animar can smack that sucker down pretty quick and ruin a lot of your opponents as has been discovered by others.
So yeah. Throw your ideas at me please! Happy Turkey Day and Shopping life to all you people in this great Jeskai colored nation of ours!

Just play Void Winnower.
Free, hates ALL even things, etc.

Not similar, but you could play Ruric Thar, the Unbowed against people playing noncreature spells (which I assume you have little or none of)
