Looking to get into commander. Unsure on the general I want, but I've narrowed it down to the ones listed below. If anyone has any experience (or a decklist for inspiration) either playing with or against the listed commanders, I'd love to hear from people

Animar, Soul of Elements, Sisters of Stone Death , Nath of the Gilt-Leaf, Sigarda, Host of Herons, Jenara, Asura of War, Sapling of Colfenor, Ulasht, the Hate Seed, Uril The Mist Stalker or Savra, Queen of the Golgari.

Thanks gang

My buddy plays Jenara, and in a Bant control shell shes an awesome mana sink. He plays Deadeye combo as his main win condition, and dumps any extra mana into her so she gets huge.

From the list you've provided can I assume you want to play something that's creature heavy? In my opinion several of the commanders you've listed would go great with a mass amounts of tokens. I'd love to see a savra deck, you have access to most if not all the reanimator cards, and you could do some silly sac combos with her being your general. But it's just depends on what you want to do. If you took Uril for example, he's a good commander for a tron deck that just starts one shotting people when he's built up.

I've got a Savra deck that is disgustingly good - it's resilient and powerful. She's a great commander in that you don't need her to win, but you can pull her out to get you some extra value when you're in a tight spot.

I wouldn't recommend running Animar until you get used to playing commander more and are ready to spend some decent cash to build it he is widely considered one of the most competitive commanders. Jenara I think is great since bant is relatively easy and cheap to build and can go several different directions with the deck. I have a couple $45 Budget commander deck lists of my own, using Sigarda as one of the commanders you can check out here$45 EDH

If you want a slightly less competitive/expensive version of Animar, may I recommend Maelstrom Wanderer? It's by far my favorite commander deck, and can be built as a combo deck or just a straight-up value engine.

Its down to Sigarda and Jenara. I saw the TCC Sigarda build and it looked really strong and Jenara seems pretty good for value. I'm split between 2 and 3 colors.

I used to run Savra a few years back. It's a fun commander but you need to produce a lot of stuff to sac plus have some reanimation in order to exploit her powers. Or run a lot of token generation.

If you haven't been sold yet, I would say to stick to 1-2 color decks when starting off. It's easier it deck building to work with the basics, like the land count ratio and it would technically be cheaper since you don't have to buy so many dual lands (which does get pretty pricey!). On that note, I would say to start with Sigarda, Host of Herons. I myself have an Uril, the Miststalker deck, and having lots of cheap enchantments to smack people for game is pretty fun. You could benefit from having the cool equipments and enchantments. Just know that as a voltron deck, you will be targeted early on, because people know what the commander is capable of if you are left alone. (Lifegain cards are highly recommended.)

Honestly I know that its not on your list but Jhoira of the Ghitu is perfect for a beginner. All you do is throw in all your biggest Red/blue?artifacts and control/burn cards. It's mana base isn't too bad and you can use her ability multiple times late game.
