Muldrotha

Commander Deck Help forum

I saw this card and already adore it as a commander. Just wanted to make a thread and see what ideas and cards get thrown around it. Any suggestions for people making this their commander?

I could see using Muldrotha, the Gravetide to reuse fetchlands, or for that matter, to reuse any sacrifice based cards such as Banewhip Punisher or Sakura-Tribe Elder. You could also use someone like Savra, Queen of the Golgari to profit off of said sacrifices.

The Command Zone, also known as CommandCast, did a 4 way Brawl match, and one of the players was using a Muldrotha, the Gravetide deck. You can check it out here, it's a pretty cool deck!

The dual type stuff would be good to ensure you have as many options as possible. Like Artifact Creature, Artifact Land, Enchantment Creature, and Enchantment Artifact.

Sacrifice effects are a given, and the obvious commander protection stuffs (Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots, Whispersilk Cloak, and Neurok Stealthsuit). Alternatively run more recursion and bring your CMDR back if he dies.

Archetype of Endurance is both a dual type, and can help protect your commander, so that looks appealing. Some of the god cards from Theros or Journey into Nyx could also find a spot (I'll always advocate for running Kruphix, God of Horizons).

I'm trying to decide whether to make the deck more creature based with Butcher of Malakir and the like, or generally permanent based with Bloodbriar.

Another thing I've been considering is throwing in some delirium stuff, and with the amount of deck cycling I've been eyeing up, maybe even put in some madness cards.

As for Vedalken Orrery, I think since Muldrotha, the Gravetide specifically says "During each of your turns," it doesn't combo.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
