Mimeoplasm gift for a friend

So one of my friends has a green black varloz the scar striped deck that he just built with cards he had lying around and it doesn’t work too well so I’m deciding to get him The Mimeoplasm since it isn’t too off theme with what his old deck planned to do. Would you guys have any suggestions for additional cards to get him while remaining in a lowish budget.

Varloz can be a pretty good deck, even competitive with a certain combo, if you want to help him just improve that deck.
But maybe start here with the mimeoplasm. Did you have a way you wanted to build mimeo for your friend? I had an awesome mill everyone deck that I would then steal the best stuff from any graveyard with. Some key cards in it:
Consuming Aberration , Fleet Swallower , Traumatize , Mind Grind , Journey to Eternity Flip, Villainous Wealth .
