Commander Deck Help forum

So my play group has two main banned decks Land Destruction & Mill so I'm going to build both in case I need to the awhole of the group. So Frist Mill I figure Black Blue are the best colors, so my question is what is the best Millmannder or the best say top 3

I would say top 3 are: Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker, Consuming Aberration, or Phenax, God of Deception.

I personally think Consuming Aberration would be the most overpowered.

DeinoStinkus that sucks. What is the requirement to be a commander then?

Nevermind. Has to say "Legendary Creature" instead of being legendary rarity and a creature...lol.

That being said, either if the other 2, but Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker has my vote.

The Scarab God is another solid option since you can use its ability to gain additional value out of opponents’ graveyards while also removing threats from opponents’ yards.

Out of curiosity, why was mill banned? It’s one of the worst archetypes in Commander due to having multiple enemies with 100 card decks and the prevalence of graveyard shenanigans.

Caerwyn My guess is because mill is annoying to play against even if it bad.

I mean, if you're playing mill then Oona, Queen of the Fae is going to be your best bet. Especially if you're going for an arsehole build.

Oona is strong because not only is she a beefy flying body, but makes a bunch of blockers (which is one of the areas that mill comes unstuck). In addition, you're not technically milling, just exiling (which your playgroup isn't specifically against which might rub even more salt in the wound). She also provides a good infinite mana outlet to just win on the spot (don't know how your playgroup feels about infinite comobs).

enpc my play group doesn't care about infinite things (Mana, Creature, Combat ect) as its a wincon. But Oona takes care of to thing 1. More bodies which all mill decks could always use more of and 2. Not help graveyard matter decks which why i have a few other graveyard hate cards in the deck

Stardragon, Maddening Cacophony (not released yet) with Bruvac the Grandiloquent could be a wincon for you.

I would like to suggest Mono-blue Advisors, courtesy of Bruvac the Grandiloquent, and Persistent Petitioners.

I assume you mean group mill, not self-mill, but regardless, personal vote goes to either of the Lazav printings. Either old-School, or New-School; (Lazav, Dimir Mastermind & Lazav, the Multifarious)

While neither gives you direct mill with your commander, it does give you reusable resources from your opponents, (or your own) while the spells and creatures in your deck do the milling for you.

Utilizing cards like Mind Grind and Mind Funeral, you can just hit all their lands all the time lol. Also room for the classic Junktroller & Tunnel Vision combo, and Bloodchief Ascension & Mindcrank. Another personal favorite is Mana Severance & Goblin Charbelcher. The latter of which is the Last Resort ^TM IMO.

Best of Luck brewing!
