I'm going to second the precon route. They cover a wide range of archetypes, so whatever your playstyle is, there is probably a precon that will help you start playing the format in that style.

ironic enough it seems i already have one being the unlikely alliance from eldritch moon, but im still looking for which one fits my playstyle the most.

Check out this EDH Budget deck (it's not mine, but I just grabbed it for $22): Vela, Eldrazi Enchantress
It'll be a great framework to build off of.

I've had my deck for 2 years and thee great thing about it is that it changes a little bit every year. Just like cklise mentioned I started out with a mono green and a mono blue precon commander. I blended them together for what I wanted to do. I have like one maybe two cards left from my original deck not including my commander. Just have a theme know what you want to do there's almost always a commander for it. Don't get discouraged when you lose at first it's a whole different game considering it's a 100 card format. Good Luck! Hope this helped.

I would suggest picking up one of the precon decks that appeals to you. Do a little research online, and maybe see if you can buy find one under MSRP (approx. $35). They do tend to be the least popular ones, but they're still an excellent entry point, and you can upgrade from there.
