Commander Deck Help forum

Hello, I've decided to make my Jeleva deck depending on Mill and extra turns. I know how to put the extra turns into the deck, but I have no idea how to make a effective mill deck. Can anybody help?
abenz419 yeah that too. I own that one I just forgot about it

Thank you 8bitMick & abenz419; I'm gonna include Tome Scour, Mind Sculpt, Traumatize and Dreadwaters, because the deck has no place left for spells that are neither sorcery or instant

that's fine, it just popped into my head after seeing everything you named. I know there are about a billion other cards that mill but my mind went blank trying to think of actual names.

If either of you know much about Standard, I could use your help.

8bitMick I usually play commander, but I remember from the prerelease that if you want to run the Lightning Axe you should have something with Madness, so that you can abuse the Lightning Axe a bit more.

I think you want to be careful using a lot of one shot effects that mill. Milling one person for 5-7 once is almost pointless. Alternatively, I've found Phenax and Undead Alchemist to be very effective, but not usually "win the game" worthy on their own. Traumatize and Mind Funeral are probably decent(especially if you can copy them, Jace, Memory Adept has a Glimpse the Unthinkable stapled to him, and Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip's ultimate mills efficiently.

MindAblaze Thank you, Mind Funeral sounds like a good idea. I would only use one shot effects because my Jeleva build enables me to copy them and because if I use cards like Jace, Memory Adept I have another card that I can't cast with Jeleva if I accidentally exile it with her.

Archive Trap is nice for EDH because library searching is always happening.

Yes that makes sense, so you're better off with permanents like Izzet Guildmage, Strionic Resonator, Mirari and Chandra, the Firebrand that let you copy stuff over and over. The Guildmage almost requires you to use stuff like Glimpse the Unthinkable and Mind Sculpt which you can get on the cheap.
There's also Chill of Foreboding, if that strikes your fancy.

I would almost do Increasing Confusion over Chill of Foreboding

00xtremeninja & MindAblaze Thanks a lot for the help. I won't be able to run Increasing Confusion, because Jeleva doesn't work with X-spells, but Archive Trap sound really nice. I would rather not mill myself, because Jeleva already does this (rather extreme by exiling) and the initial reason I had for running mill, was so that my opponents would have a bigger downside. The deck runs Mirari and Melek, Izzet Paragon as an example for cards that copy my spells. Thank you for your help.

Pokemaster325 Yes, I'm actually thinking about getting myself a second one in order to have one in my Jeleva deck and one in my casual Mill deck
