I am having trouble with Atraxa infect

Commander Deck Help forum

So i want this deck to function on a 75%+ level, but i can't seem to find any decks that really do what i'd like. I want to win with infect counters but I am not sure what the correct balance of infect proliferate and buff mechanics is among creatures or spells in general.

If you could point me to a solid deck or give some insight as to how you've played infect or seen infect played it would be most appreciated.

here is a link to the deck as it stands

btw the link isnt working. Infect is usually played with early creatures, buffs, and of course INFECT. Atraxa does work with infect cause the proliferate, but maybe a different general like, Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon .

I am not trying to rain on your parade here at all, but I would say you should just get the best infect creatures and ignore the rest. Running every infect creature you can will weaken the deck substantially. I would also say that tutors and extra card draw may be the way to go if you only do a few infect creatures and still want to win 9/10 times due to infect.

That would be because you're playing Infect instead of Energy. Dont worry, it's an honest mistake.

This actually does work pretty well. But no one has mentioned the cards that make it really work. The real key lies in Ichor Rats. Since it automatically gives each player a poison counter, it makes it much easier to defeat enemies with poison since you just have to proliferate 9 times from there and you win. Then, just have cards like Vampiric Tutor, Demonic Tutor, and Imperial Seal to search up those Ichor Rats.

If you want to do this, I'd start with my Atraxa deck, seen here: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/efficient-atraxa/ and just add a few more tutors and a few more proliferation engines, such as Thrumming Bird, Contagion Engine, Sword of Truth and Justice, and Spark Double.
