How Do I Prevent My Enchantments From Being Countered in EDH?

I play against two people who use a lot counterspells in their decks, which makes it really difficult to play any of my good enchantments, which is what my deck is all about.

Boseiju, Who Shelters All and Cavern of Souls are great for sorceries, instants and creatures because they slip right past counters, but aside from some instants that provide protection from specific colors and a few counterspells that simply can't be countered, there isn't much to work with.

Quite frankly, I'd prefer some kind of land that provides protection, since I wouldn't have to worry about being countered.

No land exists that protects enchantments.

Try alternative ways of putting them into play, such as Academy Rector.

Try recursion spells such as Open the Vaults and Replenish. Other options would include things like Grand Abolisher

I wouldn't have a reliable way to remove Academy Rector from play, but the other options would work, providing they don't get countered. I should mention that I have access to all colors.

If you have all of the colors then Vexing Shusher is awesome.

It would help if you told us what colors your deck is. Just in general the best way to keep your enchantments from being countered is going to be things that prevent your opponents from casting on your turn or make everything you cast uncounterable.

Grand Abolisher

City of Solitude

Dragonlord Dromoka

Iona, Shield of Emeria naming blue

Omen Machine can stop them from being able to draw new counters while letting you cast your enchantments

Dosan the Falling Leaf

I have a list of cards that could help you: MagicalHacker - List of All Anti-Control Cards

King of No-Counters Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone: you've been very helpful!

What colors are you in?

Because if you have blue then the best way to stop people from countering your enchantments is the same as how you stop them from countering all your other spells: with your own counters.

You bait the counter like a man and get it through once they tap out.

If they're both playing draw-go and countering all of your spells (3 way multi EDH can be the worst sometimes), then it sounds like its time for them to meet Armageddon, Carpet of Flowers, and loads of tutors.

I run all five colors: I just wanted to learn some creative alternatives to counterspells. I hate having to rely on them all the time.

I do try to bait my opponents with lesser spells, and to some extent it works, but it also drastically slows down my game. I do use lots of tutors and card draw.

Speaking of which, does anyone know anything about cheating enchantments into play? Someone mentioned Academy Rector, but I don't have a dedicated sac outlet.

If you're wanting to cheat enchantments in, then Show and Tell is probably your best bet- be wary that it gives them an opportunity to put their biggest/most annoying thing in, as well. Outside of Zur (and that's only for cheaper enchantments), your options are pretty much limited to Academy Rector (there's a reason demand pushed his cost up to $25), Enduring Ideal (which is less than ideal), and maybe Lost Auramancers fading counter abuse. There are more, but they're even worse than these (Arbiter of the Ideal is terrible, Gate to the AEther can work, I guess, but good luck resolving a 6cmc artifact against counter spells already).

Spells like Hypergenesis and Show and Tell work in more generalized builds and can let you slap down an Omniscience and just be done with it. Genesis Wave can let you slap down a bunch of permanent cards if you can get it to resolve.

Wargate doesn't cheat anything out as it's just a tutor, but it will make your opponents counter spell blind- they have to counter assuming what X is because you don't have to tell them. If they know what the card you're tutoring out is, then the spell has resolved.

More general answers like Grand Abolisher and Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir will help.

Thanks, I especially like Show and Tell, but Choke is an interesting anti-blue card, too.
