Hit a deck building wall.

Commander Deck Help forum

So i'm stuck on building 2 decks right now, Shattergang Brothers and Varina lich queen.

Shattegang brother I'm leaning more towards the aristocrat play style, but Jund is a little out of my play style. That might be part of my struggle building this deck.

Varina, I think I'm just at a wall and cant think of what to add to finish the deck without getting stuck.

What are you trying to acomplish that you can't?

Apologies, but you are a little vague, as it could mean that you don't know where to spend money on them for upgrading, you aren't sure how to play them, whether or not you should edit them, there are a lot of possibilities mate.

I"m going to echo what SynergyBuild said, it's hard to help you when there's not much info to go off of.

Echoing the echo.

Also not to be that guy please use grammar it really does make it harder to read, and don't be so vague.

my brain is fried, my apologies. Im trying to just push through this block with deck building.

I guess to elaborate more is as follows.

Shattergang. I believe I'm lacking in sac-ables or the like. There should be about 9 more slots left in that deck.

Varina, its just not finished. I think that deck is the one with the bigger block then shattergang. I'm looking at going from Scarab god to Varina for the zombie tribal theme.

I can now help with Shattergang Bros, but still, that one with Varina, what do you want? I can list of Zombie tribal cards, but I have no idea if that is what you are asking for, you have to ask for a specific thing, and many of us can help. Do you want card draw? Ramp? More beaters, pump, tricks, combos, what do you want? Are you wanting to cut cards? I have no idea.

Varina may have to go on the back burner for now. I honestly can not remember the direction I was trying to go with that deck. I do now it was going to replace Scarab god for Zombie Tribal and I mean, it's not even complete so cutting cards isn't on the table yet.

It honestly may have been just as simple as that, Zombie tribal. But I think for the time being, till I can remember what my end goal for that deck was, shattergang might need to come first.

After looking at Shattergang Brothers to be blunt I can say the deck looks a bit all over the place, it looks like you want effects that will affect everyone negatively with goodstuff cards but also lacks a coherent strategy. You have big beaters, minion swarming, and combos but no real central focus.

If you want to solely focus on utilizing Shattergang Brothers abilities then you should look into removing more of your sacrifice based effects or just make them stronger in terms of power level. There are infinite combos you could do but unless you enjoy that solitaire playstyle I won't recommend it. Many of the creatures and spell/enchantments you have in the deck are either sub-par or just don't follow a general narrative.

All in all tell me what you wanna play, do you want to swarm the field and kill people with slight interaction with Shattergang, or do you want to combo off and do degenerate stuff with little to no interaction with other players but have large interaction with shattergang, or would you rather have goodstuff/bigstuff and have a bit of interaction with shattergang? Once I know HOW you want to play I could most likely help you more.

Or do you like the way the deck looks now and would want cards to replace the ones you have?

Tibus I want the deck to be more around shattergang and that ability. I would need to talk to a friend, whom im making the deck for, what he would want further then just "I want a jund midrange deck". My problem is jund isnt a color scheme I touch so it's a little out of my scope.
