Commander Deck Help forum

I am in a rut with myself. I want to build an original deck I can really be proud of. I have a lot of great mono black, rakdos, golgari, mono green, gruul, orxhov/ esper and azorious color options but the deck directions I'm having a hard time with. Opinions always help, so here are what I could try with.

Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest edh that is Azorius control with availability of new Archangel Avacyn  Flip and Soulfire Grand Master without using red mana. Deck would use him for offense where the deck has very little. Prison lock control oriented brew.

Stick with Hanna, Ship's Navigator I have.

Glissa, the Traitor zombie tribal with powerful artifact support.

Meren of Clan Nel Toth typical sac brew.

Radha, Heir of Keld aggro elves.

Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim life gain token shenanigans.

Ghoulcaller Gisa and friends hate you.

Rubinia Soulsinger bant brew from my current Hanna deck.

Nicol Bolas grixis dump on your face.

Sisters of Stone Death golgari good stuff.

Anafenza, the Foremost human tribal abzan good stuff.

Wydwen, the Biting Gale voltron dimir.

Vampire tribal with either Garza Zol, Plague Queen or Olivia Voldaren

Other ideas welcome. I want to steer clear of popular over played brews if possible do fun commander ideas are welcome.

Are you looking for additional commander recommendations, or only from your choices here?

Also, what is your play style? What do you enjoy/like to do when playing Magic?

Additional recommendations are welcome.

My favored styles are prison/ stax and aggro, however I don't seem capable fo honing either trait in efficiently as I either burn out too fast or dont draw anything substantial to win.

I have a fun aggro deck I made. Adamaro, First to Desire is the commander. Definitely not top tier or competitive but it's really fun to play. You force everyone to keep their hand size or higher and just beat them down with commander damage.

Garza Zol, Plague Queen gives you access to Blood Tyrant .

Queen Marchesa at the helm of a token deck gives you that extra source of card draw and/or token generation that most lack.

Try going Mono-red or Boros, the restrictions breed creativity.

@Ruffigan I had considered Ashling the Pilgrim or flip Chandra for mono red. I even considered Latulla. For Boros I do have the new captain from Conspiracy and Basandra as fun options.

If you like stax go with Brago, King Eternal. He's effective multiplayer or 1v1. One of my friends plays him and it's basically just him playing while people wait for him to win.

I agree with LoneCrusader399 regarding Queen Marchesa. I'm running her as a stax/pillow-fort commander and she's brutal. The monarchy helps with card draw and then helps take the focus off of you for a bit once the crown is taken and you accrue some assassins. If you want save some money and keep it to a single color, I could see a Thalia, Heretic Cathar prison/stax deck being a thing.

@Wizno: I ran a prison/ stax deck with Thalia, Heretic Cathar once before and loved it. It evolved into what my Hanna deck is currently because it suffered greatly from two things 1) actual control against anything that would removed my creatures, and 2) card draw. I splashed in blue to give me both and it helped but in the process a lost a lot my win conditions and combat. If cant answer big creatures immediately they sat on the board and eventually overwhelmed me.

I had really wanted to do a Queen Marchesa deck but my biggest concern is buying the land for a 3 color deck. I have a lot of golgari and gruul that could blend into a Jund if I went 3 color. I have a lot of blue and white and a little bit of white and black. I have some great options for mono black and mono white as well. I am also a sufferer of severe OCD when it comes to my deck building (among other things), so things like that matter when I cant build it just right.
